jmorrison Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Links for two websites are crossed. I submitted a url change. Can you let me know the status? Existing URL: http://www.rx4debt.com should be: http://Http://www.uscreditmanagement.net in category: Top: Business: Financial Services: Financial Planning: Debt Consolidation: Debt Settlement Thanks
spectregunner Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Why would we want to make a change? Both websites work. Neither redirects to the other. Neither tells users to go elsewhere. Do you see out dilemma when we get a change request like this? What you should do, if both sites are yours, is chose from the following: 1. Kill one or the other sites. 2. Redirect one to the other. 3. Put a big banner on one telling visitors to go to the other. If you do one of those things, then the editor can easily discern your intentions, and there is no risk that you are not really you, but someone pretending to be you, hoping to steal your listing. This entire exercise is really for the benefit of the website owner to protect them from unscrupulous competitors.
jmorrison Posted August 27, 2004 Author Posted August 27, 2004 Crossed links Not to come across as rude, but when you see the listing for US Credit Management as http://www.rx4debt.com, and the actual site for US Credit management is http://www.uscreditmanagement.net or http://www.uscreditmanagement.com, why then would you not change it.
donwiebe Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 The change rx4debt.com -> uscreditmanagement.com was made about a month ago...
jmorrison Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 The link in still points to http://www.rx4debt.com in the following: http://dmoz.org/Business/Financial_Services/Financial_Planning/Debt_Consolidation/Debt_Settlement
Meta nea Posted September 1, 2004 Meta Posted September 1, 2004 You are seeing an old (possibly cached) version of the page - the bottommost link on the page, "US Credit Management - Negotiates settlements for credit card and other unsecured debt." leads to uscreditmanagement.net. The public servers update at different speeds; usually they are not a full month behind but in some cases they may be. (The "Last updated" date at the bottom of the page will let you know when the version you are seeing was last edited.) In any case the link was updated early last month.
