leonsix Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 Dear Sirs, After monitoring the ODP daily I saw that http://www.companiesmadesimple.com/ was listed under the http://dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/Consulting/Business_Formation/United_Kingdom/ catagory. It lasted only for a day and has not appeared since. The site was previously sited on a non UK server, but is now hosted in the UK. If this was this the reason for its removal then please review the site in the light of its new location or please provide advise on how we might obtain a listing. The site, we believe, is well written and offers informative guidance on both company formation and on common areas of interest to new businesses such as taxation and their various statutory requirements. Regards Leon Williams
Meta hutcheson Posted September 22, 2004 Meta Posted September 22, 2004 It was added by mistake: the mistake has been rectified. >The site was previously sited on a non UK server, but is now hosted in the UK. If this was this the reason for its removal .... This is NEVER an issue with us. >...then please review the site in the light of its new location You cannot request that here. >...or please provide advise on how we might obtain a listing. You have a listing. You should point to all your web pages, on whatever domains, from it. The submittal policy has dire warnings about what you did instead. (Those are not empty threats! Read it carefully!) Further noncompliant efforts on your part would certainly be counterproductive. If the content is substantial enough (not "well enough written", note well!) you could reasonably submit an "update URL" request to your existing listing, adding some words about that content.
leonsix Posted September 23, 2004 Author Posted September 23, 2004 Can you please help us re www.companiesmadesimple.com Dear Hutcheson, Thank you for your prompt reply. >You have a listing. You should point to all your web pages, on whatever domains, from it. The submittal policy has dire warnings about what you did instead. (Those are not empty threats! Read it carefully!) Further noncompliant efforts on your part would certainly be counterproductive. - Firstly please accept our apologies if we have contravened any of the OPD rules. This was certainly not intentional. Regarding the listing which you say we have, could you please tell us what it is? We have searched for both companiesmadesimple and companies made simple on the OPD and have not received a result. We hope that we have understood your reply and thank you for your help in this matter. Regards Leon Williams
jimnoble Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 You're surely not telling us that you don't know what other URLs your company owns .
leonsix Posted September 23, 2004 Author Posted September 23, 2004 Re Companiesmadesimple.com Dear Sir, Thank you again for your prompt reply. I think I finally understand the reasoning. I have never regarded companiesmadeimple.com as a "mirror" site as it provides over 100 pages of unique content. I am however happy to abide by your rules. I apologise again for any inconvenience. Regards Leon Williams
