Guest Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Hello, I have a couple of clients who have Recruiting firms (mainly executive recruiting, but one is a cross between perm and temp). Now my issue comes with regards to the possible categories to list these different companies. They work in both the national market and within their respective local markets. My ideal submission would include a link from their local category (i.e. San Diego county, and their city within the county), and then something on the national level under executive search. I don't want to spam the directory, so I decided to inquire here first. I wouldn't wish to harm my client's submissions, but I would like to provide them to their appropriate category(s).
motsa Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 They wouldn't be listed in their county but would probably get a listing in their appropriate locality (i.e. the locality where they are physically located, not the nearest larger city). It would help to have an example site in order to be able to give you specific advice, though.
Guest Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Well they recruit on a national and local level. I don't have a specific example as we're currently redoing both sites, and I'd rather have them looked at upon completion. I'm just asking because I will likely be encountering these types of projects.
Meta hutcheson Posted January 21, 2003 Meta Posted January 21, 2003 I agree that a County listing is not acceptable. However, a Locality listing IS certainly appropriate, and a Business listing IS certainly appropriate. Submit to both categories, but in your suggested description, make sure that the capsule description of the company's services mentions the part relevant to that category. And make sure that the "about us" page on the website mentions both the local focus and the nationwide scope; and if possible, explains the nature of focus ("serves all El Tibia businesses, also recruits Elbonian-language executives worldwide.)
Guest Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Thanks for the suggestions. What would a county listing be reserved for ?
uzs980 Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Mainly for companies which have branches in more than one locality in that county.
totalxsive Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 County listings are given to companies with offices across the county.
Guest Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 they specialize in working with companies through out San Diego, but they are located within a smaller city within San Diego county.
beebware Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Then in the smaller city they will be listed. My main customers come from the USA (UK revenues amount to less than 20%), but that doesn't mean I can get a listing there - I'm stuck in UK/England/Leicester... Sorry.
Guest Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Not a problem. I just want to make sure that when I'm ready to submit them, that we choose the correct location. Thanks all. Maybe if I ever get a chance to breath from my own company, I'll apply to be an editor and then get tortured mercilessly like the rest of you.
