JBlock Posted March 29, 2005 Author Posted March 29, 2005 Still no posting Hi- I requested that http://www.smartguardsoftware.com be posted to DMOZ under http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Shareware/Windows/Security/Parental_Control/ over 6 months ago but it has not yet. That initial listing pertained to our product release of "Blockster", a P2P-blocking product that is downloadable from our website. We are now launching a second product, "WallFly", that will allow parents to set limits on computer use. We want to do our best to get listed in DMOZ. We believe DMOZ is a critical resource to the online community. Can someone look into this and let me know if we are doing something wrong in the way we are trying to list our website? Thanks, Jerald
bobrat Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 Your site was listed in Computers/Software/Shareware/Windows/Security/Parental_Control/ a couple of weeks ago, if you feel that is incorrect - go to that category and fill out an update request with an explanation. Do not continue to submit the individual page within the site, it will just get ignored and deleted
JBlock Posted March 29, 2005 Author Posted March 29, 2005 Confused Thanks, I found it!! But, I am confused...when I go to the main page "http://dmoz.org/" and type in "smartguard" it does not seem to come up. I'll plug around some more to see if I am doing something wrong in the search but I can't imagine what. Jerald
Meta pvgool Posted March 29, 2005 Meta Posted March 29, 2005 The search server is known to be running on a slightly older version of our database. Please see our faq for related questions. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
JBlock Posted March 29, 2005 Author Posted March 29, 2005 Thanks Yes, I just found the FAQ on this issue. It looks like a new index needs to be built before the search will find it. Thanks for all the help! Jerald
