Help: Open Directory Question.

Hello All,

 

I apologize if this is the wrong category, but I really couldn’t find where this fits.

 

I recently have changed URLs for my website.

 

The category for my website is under:

 

http://dmoz.org/Arts/Movies/Titles/N/Nightmare_on_Elm_Street_Series/

 

My website: The Nightmare On Elm Street Companion was under the URL:

 

http://amtheweek.homestead.com/nightmarecover.html

 

the new URL is:

 

http://nightmareonelmstreetfilms.com/

 

I submitted the change via the Update form and to my surprise, the listing under my category was updated immediately.

 

My question is this. The listing under the open directory is still not updated - do I need to do anything more to have that listing updated also? Or will this be resolved over time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing that you are talking about using search when you say

The listing under the open directory is still not updated

. If so, search lags behind the category listings, usually by a few days, but sometimes a few weeks.

 

At the bottom of the search page you should see the last date the search index was refreshed (currently Mon Sep 20 01:54:46 EDT 2004 ) since the index takes a few days to build, a site added between, say, the 16th and 20th might or might not be indexed, but it will be in the next index update.

 

All you can do is wait a bit, it will correct itself over time.
