SEO DIY Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 Can't find SEO DIY (seo-diy.com) I have submitted our new Web site seo-diy.com more than 3 times in the last 3 months ! A few minutes ago we tried again! Please tell me why our site is not getting listed! Any help would be greatly appreciated :-) Best wishes Claudia Schumann
leer Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 3 months is not a long time at all by any stretch of the imagination I am afraid. As per our forum guidelines you will have to wait until a month has elapsed since your last submission and post in the submission status thread. Be sure to read the thread labelled [readme]readme[/readme] before you make your post. I would advise against resubmitting as it will simply overwrite any previous submissions. Also there really is no need to submit various different domains for your related services.
Guest gimmster Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Well I hope your DIY SEO advice does not include a getting listed in DMOZ section. I have submitted our new Web site seo-diy.com more than 3 times in the last 3 months Suggest your site once to the single most appropriate category. Resubmission to the same category overwrites previous suggestions. A few minutes ago we tried again! One month after the last suggestion you may enquire in the Site Submission Status forum http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showforum=22 to see if your site has been recieved where you submitted it (read the posting guidelines first). If it has been recieved you may enquire again at intervals no closer than 6 months. Please tell me why our site is not getting listed! Most probably your site has not been reviewed yet - 3 months is not a long wait for review in some categories, especially heavily spammed ones. We are not a listing service, nor a link farm. An actual human will have to find both the time and inclination to check each site for unique content, and determine whether it should be included. Once you have suggested a site for an editor to look at, that is all you can do. :tree:
SEO DIY Posted September 30, 2004 Author Posted September 30, 2004 SEO-DIY not found Hi Leer, first let me thank you for your quick reply ! However can you tell what the average waiting period might be before being accepted into dmoz? I also found out that I am with another domain under another business registered without having ever made any submission into dmoz? Tx Claudia
leer Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 There is no such thing as a waiting period and no expectations can really be honored or expressed. As gimmster suggests it is a case of submit and forget (with the option of obtaining a status check if you desire). What is the other domain that you refer to that was not submitted?
SEO DIY Posted September 30, 2004 Author Posted September 30, 2004 Thank you Thanks Gimmster In 6 months I might be dead But I understand very well your point of view! Handling thousands of Web sites on a daily basis not quite easy and not getting paid for it doesn't make it look better! I will patiently wait, hoping that nothing will happen to me in the meantime! By the way, I have no Dmoz submission on our Web site but I would very much be intersted to ad a link into our SEO-DIY.COM! Thanks again for a wonderful job you all do and I include Leer as well! Claudia
leer Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Your welcome We have some linking options at http://dmoz.org/link.html if they are of interest.
SEO DIY Posted September 30, 2004 Author Posted September 30, 2004 Search Feature Down again Ohh I almost forgot to ask: 15 minutes ago I could accomplish a search in Dmoz! Now it doesn't work any longer! This happens all the time! Why is the index, or better search features down for days and weeks? Is there any reason? Tx. Claudia
SEO DIY Posted September 30, 2004 Author Posted September 30, 2004 Tx Thanks Leer for the link Claudia
SEO DIY Posted September 30, 2004 Author Posted September 30, 2004 Last Question! Last Question I promise: Is there any way of getting in touch with a Dmoz editor of my Category (Computer........Webmaster Tools) ? This would really help me! Thanks an stay well! Claudia
Meta pvgool Posted September 30, 2004 Meta Posted September 30, 2004 1) Sometimes our search isn't working properly, no problem as we are a directory and not a search engine. You can also search our site through Google (as an SEO you should know how to do this ) 2) RZ is the way to contact editors. Personal emails will almost never be answered. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
Crichey Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I guess with dmoz inclusion, patience must be a virtue!!!! Can't complain though, after all everyone is a volunteer.
SEO DIY Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 Status of http://www.seo-diy.com Hi, Please tell me the status of my Web site http://www.seo-diy.com which I believe submitted into the following category: http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Tools/ Cheerful Season Claudia Claudia Schumann, President SEODIY CORP. BESTPLACE CORP. admin@seod-diy.com best@bestplace.net
djdeeds Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 [r]recd[/r] And possibly in a couple other places, it appears.
SEO DIY Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Hi djdeeds, from a woman to woman...thanks a 1000-times. I really appreciate you taking time to answer me! :-) It's a very important matter to me since this is a business I created from scratch. I have already many members only from word to mouth advertising - but I need to get a listing in Dmoz! Only one more question: Approx. when can I expect to be reviewed! Have a very Cheerful Holiday Season Claudia :-)
SEO DIY Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 Hi djdeeds do you have any new news about my site seo-diy.com? I am not sure in which category it was submitted to. It could have been Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Promotion: Tools http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Tools/ or under: Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Promotion: Search Engine Optimization Firms http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Search_Engine_Optimization_Firms/ Thanks for any information Claudia Schumann, President BESTPLACE CORPORATION best@bestplace.net admin@seo-seo-diy.com
leer Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 As per other request here and the advice given there please return to THIS thread after 3rd June 2005 which is 6 months after the last status check.
SEO DIY Posted January 22, 2005 Author Posted January 22, 2005 Not the appropriate Category for SEO-DIY.COM First of all A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL ODP Editors for finally accepting our Web site into the ODP directory. Unfortunately it is not in the right directory. Mainly our Web site offers ALL Search Engine Optimization tools available on the market today at one place. The PPC Management software tool is only a small part of all other 13 software tools available on our site. Our main objective is "search engine optimization" do it yourself by providing ALL Web Site Promotion Tools for ONE Subscription Fee. All Tools can be used virtually online - NO DOWNLOADS. The category where SEODIY is listed right now is: http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Pay-Per-Click_Advertising/Services/ This should only be an additional listing. The right category should be: http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Software/Internet/Website_Promotion/ and secondary: http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Tools/ PLEASE HELP US TO GET INTO THE RIGHT CATEGORY AT DMOZ and please visit our site to see for yourself what we offer. PPC Management is one of 13 other tools and only the smallest factor in our business. TX DMOZ Editors we really admire your freelance work and that you are working on THE most edited Online directory Claudia Schumann, President SEODIY
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted January 22, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted January 22, 2005 If you are sure that your site belongs in the other categories you mention, submit an Update request on the site, suggesting in the Reason field that the site should be listed in the other categories. I should add that your site almost certainly will not be listed in both of the categories you suggest. Then you may ask here one month after that submission. I don't edit in that area, but I don't think the published description matches the category description, so you may very well have a point. If your site hadn't been suggested to so many categories, this probably wouldn't have happened.
SEO DIY Posted January 22, 2005 Author Posted January 22, 2005 SEO DIY - Web Site Promotion Tool Where do I apply for an UPDATE? Tx Claudia
jimnoble Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Go to the category where you're listed and it's update listing at top right.
