Hi There

My site is www.orlandovacationsonline.com

and I submitted to DMOZ some time ago but didn't see anything yet. In another board, I mentioned this and someone said it would never get listed but failed to say why.

Can anyone help, I don't want to resubmit, I think my site is OK and I'd like to know if I'm doing anything wrong.

Thanks So Much

Hmm, I'm trying to get an actual answer, yes I looked at the link but based on at least 100 other sites in similar areas who ARE listed, the above doesn't make sense because we have a far better site with just a couple of links to our Hotel affiliates, unlike sites with hundreds and all sorts of other issues and have been listed.

Can someone help?

Thank You

I think editor windharp is pointing you to the dmoz rules about affiliate sites. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />

Hi there

Yes, I was reading the info. about affiliates.

That's what confused me. We deal with Orlando accommodations and to provide our customers with helpful information, we have affiliates who provide flights and car rentals. The problem I was having is it seems that almost all Orlando related sites do the same and many, many sites which ARE listed with DMOZ have lot's of affiliate programs for similar services so I was trying to figure out how they all got listed and we haven't been.

To report sites that do not comply with our guidelines contact me or any person titled "Meta" in this forum via Feedback. As usual, mistakes do not count as a reason to make further mistakes.

Keep in mind: The actual content is that, was stays when subtracting all affiliate content. So if there is enoguth unique content to qualify for a listing, a site may be listed.

Thank you.

OK Thank You

If you take a look at our site

www.orlandovacationsonline.com you should see that we have a small link on our navigation to our branded hotels, flights and car rental, these are offered purely to assist our customers.

If you look through the site, you will see that we offer extensive information about all the theme parks including disney and universal studios, information about attraction tickets, what to see and do, villa booking information and all kinds of other helpful guides.

I really think we do a good job in giving plenty of good and valuable info. and out links out are nothing more than a single word each. I's like to think we are not doing anything wrong just for offering good content!

PS I can show you hundreds of sites each the orlando category with lots of affiliate links if anyone needs them. 9 out of 10 sites in travel do this and are all listed!
