Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right category for this question but I couldn't find better one.

My question is regarding my site www.roulette2002.com.

I would ask the category editor but its looks like he was removed as well as my site . simply my question is: why the site was removed?

I know its content is good (by my opinion ) and I couldn't find it else where in dmoz directory.

BTW, it wasn't me that post the site in first place.

An answer to your question in the other thread:

Nothing has changed in Games: Gambling: Roulette yet. As you can see at the bottom of the page, the last change was on January 12th.

Your site is still waiting for re-review in that category.

Please don't ask too often for a new status - our main task is to review submissions, and we need time for that. Give us at least a month now. Thanks.

Yours,

Robert

Thanks Robert, I've noticed that the category last update was 3:45 PT, Monday, February 24, 2003. Is there any news for me?

dfy, I thought of continue this thread but then I felt that the question is more right for the "Submission Status". I’ll keep your comment in mind.

Yes, now there is. I just approved some links that were prepared by an editor without full privileges for this category, among them your site. They should turn up when the category page refreshes, which should be within one or two days.

Hi guys,

It's look like the site been removed once again. Can someone check for the reason? should I submit the site once more?

Hi,

Since day one, more then 90% of the material in roulette2002 is original.

Please, I would like to know in which other sites published in DMOZ you have found the same content. I am looking into taking action against those sites to remove my content from their pages.

I’m also working now to add new content to the site. What step do you think I can take to prevent other sites from copying the new content from my site and post them in their sites?

I understand that the editors have no way to know the original writer of the content, so I can’t complain about dishonesty of the editors. But I do expect them to check which site has been published first in DMOZ and to assume that this site is the original owner of the content.

If the material is yours, you could claim your copyright. That is a legal issue, we can't give any legal advice - contact your lawyer about it.

Regarding the forum guidelines, we do not discuss site contents in here. To find your texts, try to search for your texts with searchengines.

But I do expect them to check which site has been published first in DMOZ and to assume that this site is the original owner of the content.

Sorry, but that is no criteria. There are two scenarios:

a) Content is copied as you say. We can't know who submits his site first / is listed first. Might be the originator of the content, might be someone who copied it.

b) Someone sets up several mirrors. We might list one. Maybe. If the person does not spam the directory. If we feel that the content is worth it

To be honest, its nearly impossible to differ between the two possibilities. In some areas we assume that submitters are nice, in others our experience tells us that they are not. We are very restricting with online-casino sites due to the heavy amount of online-casino-spam flooding the ODP. That may be unfair against honest people, but we simply have no choice.

This site won't be listed: if that were a debatable proposition, which it isn't, this forum would not be the place to debate it.

As a more general bit of advice: it is very unlikely that that mode of site development could conceivably generate ANY site that could be considered listable in the ODP. Your time would probably be better spent pursuing other methods of site promotion.
