Guest JonnyWales Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 As I still haven't managed to get listed after submitting three months ago. I submitted to the category COMPUTERS/SOFTWARE/HUMAN RESOURCES and followed the guidelines as closely as possible. I did resubmit a couple of other times; could this be the cause of the non-inclusion? However, there is no editor assigned for this category and so I'm not sure if this category is in abeyance until another is found (I did volunteer but not accepted). Anyone any ideas? Thanks Jonny
totalxsive Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 You're not doing anything wrong. That category has more sites in its unreviewed queue than are currently listed, and it appears that no-one has had chance to pick your site up to list it. As it is, it is still waiting. Due to the size of the category you should not apply to be an editor, but feel free to apply to a subcategory of this. Other than that, I'm afraid you'll have to wait.
Guest JonnyWales Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 Thanks totalxsive, at least I now know I'm not going mad. I just need to learn to be patient .... JW
Meta jazz Posted May 16, 2002 Meta Posted May 16, 2002 I don't think totalxsive's comment has anything to do with you going mad.... /images/icons/smile.gif
Guest JonnyWales Posted July 25, 2002 Posted July 25, 2002 Well it's been a verrrryyyyyyy long wait so far, not sure if listing will come before I retire or not /images/icons/smile.gif
Guest Posted July 26, 2002 Posted July 26, 2002 I was wondering the same thing, is there an average as to how long a site should take to be reviewed?
djdeeds Posted July 26, 2002 Posted July 26, 2002 Sure there's an average. But the variance probably kills it. /images/icons/smile.gif - dj
Meta arlarson Posted July 26, 2002 Meta Posted July 26, 2002 Sure, I could estimate an average time, but I wouldn't want to say anything... mean. /images/icons/wink.gif (Actually it would be difficult for any editor to even guess at an average. Staff probably could calculate one, but doing so would likely rank somewhere around the bottom of their very long list of priorities.)
Guest qbp Posted July 26, 2002 Posted July 26, 2002 You're not waiting as long as others sadly have to wait. I have seen/heard of sites in unreviewed for literally years. /images/icons/frown.gif OTOH, I have heard of sites that were listed the _same day_ they were submittted /images/icons/smile.gif Does this give you a mental picture of how hard it would be to calculate an avarage? /images/icons/wink.gif
Meta windharp Posted July 26, 2002 Meta Posted July 26, 2002 My best time was about 5 Minutes. I have seen the site appear and instantly started to work on it /images/icons/smile.gif Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
Meta jazz Posted July 27, 2002 Meta Posted July 27, 2002 I'd say the best time is ZERO, where the editor finds the site to list without a submission... :/images/dmoz/purplegrin.gif
