JLip Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Dear Eds, Just a quick enquiry to see if our application to include our site www.porta-charge.co.uk on dmoz.org has been received? I think the site was submitted to the following section: http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Consumer_Electronics/Communications/Wireless/Accessories/ Best Wishes, Jason Lipton
djdeeds Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I see no sign of it being received in that cat, though a suggestion was declined listing in another category.
JLip Posted October 14, 2004 Author Posted October 14, 2004 Thanks for the reply Deanna, Are we able to re-submit in that category then? If a site has been rejected in one category, is it possible to be accepted in another? Best Wishes, Jason Lipton
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted October 14, 2004 Editall/Catmv Posted October 14, 2004 If you'll tell us where else the site was submitted, we'll tell you whether it would affect that status of the submission you describe. In general, though, within the English language categories, "topical" submissions (meaning, other than Regional), and Regional submissions are independent. Regional/.../United_Kingdom is yet another special cases, with Regional/.../UK/topical being considered independent of Regional/.../UK/country/.../locality. Some sites, though, would be rejected in all categories.
JLip Posted October 27, 2004 Author Posted October 27, 2004 Hi Arubin, My apologies but I don't have a record of the original submission (I thought that we would receive some sort of e-mail clarification when we submitted) - I do know that we have only submitted once though (to a category that djdeeds said that we were declined in - although I still don't know which that is!) It could well be that we listed in the wrong category - Essentially, we are just trying to find the right place for our website within dmoz - we don't want to waste either your time or ours. With that in mind, I think that Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Shopping: Consumer Electronics: Communications: Wireless: Accessories is the most appropriate place - would you therefore advise that we try submitting to that category? I have looked at the websites listed there and think that we are offering some unique products that consumers would be very interested in. Best Wishes, Jason Lipton
leer Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 If you feel that it is the correct category then please feel free to submit it there. If the reviewing editor feels that it is not the best category it will be moved at that time if necessary.
JLip Posted October 28, 2004 Author Posted October 28, 2004 OK, thanks for the feedback. Will do. Best Wishes, Jason
