lazy_sunday Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Please let me know the status of our site http://www.purplesapphire.com Submitted once on April the 4th 2004. dmoz.org category we submitted to:- http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Alternative/Aromatherapy/Bath_and_Body/ Many thanks and kind regards.
Meta kokopeli Posted October 14, 2004 Meta Posted October 14, 2004 It has been rejected, as it is listed under another url already.
lazy_sunday Posted October 19, 2004 Author Posted October 19, 2004 Question Thanks for your reply although I am unsure what it actually means. I would really appreciate you clarifying what it means that a url is already listed and thank you in advance. When i do a search on OPD nothing comes up for purplesapphire. We have submitted once to OPD in April 2004. We own the purplesapphire.com and the purplesapphire.co.nz domain names although only use the .com Many thanks and kind regards
Meta hutcheson Posted October 19, 2004 Meta Posted October 19, 2004 I think she possibly means that the same content (or closely related content) is found on another site, which has a URL other than "purplesapphire". Beyond this, we can't afford to say. There are too many people who test the ODP editor's acuity by constantly probing with submittals of related sites -- we don't give feedback on the subject. It is your responsibility to find the other sites, and close them down if they are plagiarizing you (or if they are sites that you no longer wish listed). Nobody can do this better than you -- no ODP editor, no matter how clever at spotting related sites, has more information than you do.
lazy_sunday Posted October 20, 2004 Author Posted October 20, 2004 Many thanks for your response:) I think I see where I went wrong now as I submitted a status check for http://www.purplesapphire.com/pages/index.php when I should have submitted status check for http://www.purplesapphire.com which is the page I originally submitted. What do you think the chances are of finding out the submission status for http://www.purplesapphire.com? Many thanks for your time

Many thanks for your response, I found the error and have re-edited my thread so hopefully all is well. Many thanks to you.
bobrat Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 The missing index. is not the problem - an editor has an opinion that another web site with a different URL is in fact the same content as your web site.
lazy_sunday Posted October 20, 2004 Author Posted October 20, 2004 Oh dear! I am feeling very confused now. We have 3 category products out of 9 that are exclusive to us online at purplesapphire.com. Looks like I have my work cut out for me finding the site that has our products. Many thanks for your advice:flower:
lazy_sunday Posted October 20, 2004 Author Posted October 20, 2004 Learning all the time. I have found two of our suppliers listed in the OPD, each are manufacturers of their product and both offer wholesale and retail.
lazy_sunday Posted October 20, 2004 Author Posted October 20, 2004 Advice Please As you can see from the previous threads, we have been rejected into the OPD. As we need to stay loyal to our suppliers, would it be worth re-submitting entire website in a completely different, yet relevant category in the OPD? We would really appreciate your opinion down here in New Zealand. Many thanks
dogbows Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 This is just a curious question, so don't place any value to it at all, but I was wondering if you only sell online, or do you actually have a store at the address that is on the website?
lazy_sunday Posted October 20, 2004 Author Posted October 20, 2004 Yes, we only sell online. All stock is kept on our premises though.
lazy_sunday Posted February 2, 2005 Author Posted February 2, 2005 Update on status please Hello, Looking for an update on our site please. Originally rejected as some of our suppliers are listed on the ODP. We have changed layout slightly and re-requested in October under a different category than any of our suppliers that we have found in the directory. Resubmitted under http://dmoz.org/Regional/Oceania/New_Zealand/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Health_and_Beauty/ http://www.purplesapphire.com Your thoughts are appreciated
lazy_sunday Posted April 29, 2005 Author Posted April 29, 2005 Patiently waiting Hello, Patiently waiting for a reply on last thread back in February this year please. Should I re-submit in another category again or hang in there. Many thanks. Know you are all really busy. Raewyn
