Guest Posted January 31, 2003 Posted January 31, 2003 I have a website with .biz domain. Is there any rule etc that search engines or ODP does not promote/support .biz and .org site domains. Thanx RSS
brmehlman Posted January 31, 2003 Posted January 31, 2003 No problem. The ODP evaluates sites on their merits, not on their domains. I can't speak for search engines, and I won't try to.
totalxsive Posted January 31, 2003 Posted January 31, 2003 We have no problem with standard TLD (top level domains). You may have trouble using the domains from New.net as not all editors will have the ability to browse such sites, but .biz, .info and the like should not pose a problem at all. A search of the ODP found 6753 sites with 'biz' in the URL - while not all of these will be .biz domains, I think you get the idea <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />.
beebware Posted January 31, 2003 Posted January 31, 2003 However, if you try and submit example.com, example.co.uk and example.biz to the ODP - it WILL be caught and only one of the domains will be listed (if that!).
