kbor Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Hidden text on websites really irritates me. Is it reason for exclusion? If so check this site out - http://www.daoreal.com/ in category http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Bulgaria/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/
miromulus Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Hidden text is important for search engines. DMOZ is a directory.
ishtar Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Sites may be removed because of hidden text/links. Each site will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
jgwright Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Hidden text is important for search engines. DMOZ is a directory. What is your point? Can't understand wether you're "for" or "against".
miromulus Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 What is your point? Can't understand wether you're "for" or "against". If the surfer can't see the hidden text, what is the problem? Keywords are important for search engines but in a directory the most important is a fair description. See this thread for additional info http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24221
bobrat Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 That information may no longer be true. I believe that under some circumstances, hidden text, if found, and not applicable to the site, could cause rejection. There is no general rule on this.
thehelper Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 As stated earlier in the thread. Hidden text and hidden links on a site are handled on a case by case basis. The statement that we used to make about we don't care what the users cannot see because we are a directory is not always true anymore. Times have changed and so have we.
