Guest Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 Is it standard practice for ODP editors to send a rejection e-mail for sites that they reject? I submitted a couple of sites some time ago and just haven't heard anything, and even resubmitted one of them as well and still haven't heard anything. The sites that I am working with are www.disector.com and www.bradyandartists.com, can I assume that they are in the queue somewhere?
apeuro Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 Due to the incredible amount of submissions, ODP editors do not send out rejection letters. Your first site is almost about to be added in Science/Methods_and_Techniques/Stereology. Your second site has been having a harder time finding a home.
Guest Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 Thanks for the update on the status, I thought that the second would have a hard time finding a catagory as I spent alot of time searching for one before finally submitting it and I am still not sure that I picked the right one. In respect to status, I have seen a couple of posts related to having someway to check status of submissions, does anyone know of any grass roots movement to help the ODP develop something? If not, can we start one? Does anyone know what the major hurdles to such an effort would be? Although others may differ on what such a beast would do, I would be more than satisfied with simple knowledge if the submission was in queue or out of queue.
apeuro Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 Unfortunately, to develop such a system would require access to DMOZ's proprietary back end, which no one other than staff has access to.
Guest Posted June 8, 2002 Posted June 8, 2002 Stereology Site Hi apero, Thanks for checking on the status of this site submission earlier in May. I have been checking on the status of this showing up in Science/Methods_and_Techniques/Stereology and it still has not appeared. I thought that perhaps there was a problem and tried to resubmit it again and the submission form said the site was already listed. However, when I search for www.disector.com on dmoz, nothing appears. Is there some sort of "limbo land" that this site is stuck in? I know the catagory lacks an editor, is that a problem? BTW, my other site eventually did find a home and has appeared in the directory. Matt
hildea Posted June 8, 2002 Posted June 8, 2002 Re: Stereology Site Hi! It is still waiting in Science/Methods_and_Techniques/Stereology . Please be patient a bit more. /images/icons/smile.gif Regards, Hilde
Guest Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 Re: Stereology Site Hi Again, Are we still waiting or should I resubmit this site? Thanks. Keep up the good work, Matt
thehelper Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 Re: Stereology Site Your site is still waiting but I do not think it will be much longer.
Meta jazz Posted July 15, 2002 Meta Posted July 15, 2002 Re: Stereology Site Looks like your first site is listed in category in question and Chester, MD now. Second site is also listed in Maryland, as you noted.
Guest Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Re: Stereology Site Thank you so much. It's always worth the wait.
