Your submission was moved to Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Hosting: C.

The reason can be read in the submission guidelines of Computers: Internet: Domain Names: "If you provide more than one service (i.e. Domain Name Registration, Hosting, Promotion, Marketing), you should submit your site to Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers or Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Hosting, in the appropriate alphabar."

So your site is now waiting in the appropriate Hosting category. Unfortunately, this is an area of the directory with very many submissions and not so many editors. There are literally hundreds of submissions waiting in the letter C category alone. It will probably take a while until your site will be reviewed.

By the way, before you ask: Also http://www.secureserver.net/ is still waiting for review (this one in Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Hosting: S. There will come a time when one will have to decide which one to list ...

Thanks for the feedback, I do appreciate your reply.

My mistake on the category. As to www.secureserver.net that submission is not related to www.cheapdomain.com

at least not to my knowledge anyway. Thanks again for taking time out of your busy schedule to provide this information.

Yes - motsa,

There are a number of links back to http://www.secureserver.net/ in fact if my memory

serves me correct 19 of the some 27 links from http://www.cheapdomain.com/ go to this URL.

We are an RSP for Wild West Domains, Inc.. Wild West Domains, Inc. is a sister site for Go Daddy Software, Inc.

heading up their private label program, this is where these links go. I have not submitted http://www.secureserver.net/ nor do I intend to as

this would be of no benefit to my site. Will this somehow prevent my site from being listed?

Thank you once again.

Hello Robert,

I hope I am correct on your name, if I am not please do forgive me.

I do appreciate your concern and thanks for your reply.

Is there a place where we can have a dialogue without posting

to this forum? I would like to provide you with my personal email address at a place

where it is not open to the general public. We get our fair share

of bad mail, I hope you do understand. I do think it is important not only

for dmoz, our site but our clients as well that we take this time to discuss

our concerns off the record. I would like our site to be listed, but more importantly

I have an obligation to be in compliance with dmoz. My obligation also extends to our customers

to the community as a whole in doing our part by providing relative useful content.

I do thank you again for your prompt reply and hope we can communicate our concerns

on a professional level, at a place which will enable you and I to elaborate more explicitly

on the issues.

Robert if this is not possible that is O.K. and I do understand. You are doing your part

and that is really all that is to be expected. If I do not here from you, I send you my regards

and wish you all the best in your endevors.

My regards,

Ed

I would suggest keeping the communication to this forum, since its the most professional communication platform that we offer.

I dont think that any information you could not provide in the open would change the situation.

I don't think emailing about this privately would be better than posting to this forum. Here's were dozens of editors come, here's where all editors with knowledge of this area of the directory can add an answer.

Or is there any kind of information which is important for our decision, but cannot be made public?

Yours,

Robert (yes, that's my name)

Thanks for your reply. My expectation may have been unrealistic, thinking

this would be complete by now. In reality, I really hadn't any idea

how long this process would be (just hopeful), so I am happy to know anything,

even if it will be a month or so. I'll check back.

Thanks

If you feel like it, but please do not come back before a month is over - every request eats up valuable editor time that could be used for other purposes.

Thanks,

I do understand. That is why I waited 3 months prior to my latest post, rather than a month or two.

I'll check back in a month or so.

Any chance on getting an editor to look at this site?

I know you guys are busy, but it has been 7 months now

and not a word. I greatly appreciate your taking the time

to do this.

Many thanks!

Yes, it has been a long time. Unfortunately, there are literally hundreds of sites waiting for review in that category -- and many have been waiting even longer than you. Now remember that those hundreds are just in one letter, and there are a lot of letters and numbers... We wish that we had more qualified volunteer editors to help reduce the numbers of sites waiting, but at the moment, we don't.

This forum is not designed to expedite listings. It is designed to allow submitters to ask about the status of a site. Editors will not review a site more quickly just because it is requested in this forum. Doing so would quickly make these forums useless.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid you'll have to be patient...but since you asked, I have a question for you. Are you just reselling Wild West (aka Go Daddy) hosting (and domain names)? If so, could you explain why we should list your site, given the ODP inclusion guidelines? In other words, what, if anything, is unique about your service that couldn't be found on Go Daddy, or on any one of the more than 1,000 other Wild West reseller sites?

CheapDomain.com offers domain names with additional name search capability, including names generator software.

Considering the relative value of this resource in comparison to information found on the topic "Name Search", it is my belieif CheapDomain.com provides the quality of site with the ability to contribute important, unique information on this topic.

Should I submit my site to:

http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Domain_Names/Name_Search/

Thanks,

-Ed
