Guest dgiacomini Posted February 8, 2003 Posted February 8, 2003 Hello, Our web site http://www.kschweizer.com sells journals, stationery, pens and other gift items. Technically, we are a gift stationery store. We are currently listed in the following DMOZ category: shopping:publications:books:blankbooks This doesn't seem to be the most appropriate category even though we do sell blank books (journals/diaries). Would it be possible to add our company (or switch) to the following category: shopping:gifts:stationery This seems to be more appropriate for our company. Thanks for your help in this matter.
Editall/Catmv cleve Posted February 8, 2003 Editall/Catmv Posted February 8, 2003 Hi dgiacomini, Unless a shopping editor advises you otherwise, one thing you could do is update your site with a request to move it to shopping/gifts/stationery. If that fails, email one of the top four Shopping level editors with your request. Most editors will try to help in situations where a site is incorrectly listed.
Guest dgiacomini Posted February 8, 2003 Posted February 8, 2003 Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will go ahead and try to update my site. Thanks,
Guest NLCrane Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 My business (PrioSoft... currently listed as Computers: Software: Business: Small Business ) can be appropriately listed in several software catgories (e.g construction, building, auto sales, business) in the directory... How shall I submit those requests?
donaldb Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Looks like this was answered in the other thread
Guest NLCrane Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 That seems to be a very restrictive response, since our software is applicable nationwide, perhaps internationally. I would like to put our business into all appropriate categories... after all, general mills is listed in many ways.
dfy Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 It doesn't matter to us how widely applicable your software is, it's still software and as such it will be placed in the software category. If we allowed everyone to have their site listed in evey category they thought was appropriate, we'd soon have several billion listings and a directory that was completely unusable.
