Guest ecastro Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Good day' We submitted our site: http://www.offersanddeals.com about five months ago to http://dmoz.org/Home/Homemaking/Frugality/Coupons/ . I would like to know whether our site was rejected or not. You're reply is greatly appreciated. 'Tis the Gift-Giving season once more and I'm sure more customers are looking for money saving coupons for online shopping. Thanks in advance.
Khym_Chanur Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 It was deleted for being an affiliate site, since an editor considered all of the links to be affiliate links. From the ODP guidelines: Sites Consisting Primarily of Affiliate Links Sites consisting primarily of affiliate links, or whose sole purpose is to drive user traffic to another site for the purpose of commission sales, provide no unique content and are not appropriate for inclusion in the directory. However, a site that contains affiliate links in addition to other content (such as a fan site for a singer that has interviews and photos plus banner ads and links to buy the singer's CDs) might be an acceptable submission to the directory.
Meta windharp Posted February 11, 2003 Meta Posted February 11, 2003 Site was rejected for not complying with the needs for a site described in the first paragraph of the category descrption which is based upon our Guidelines - section Sites not to include. [Edit: This time someone bet me to it. Leaving this post for the links it contains] Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
