Guest bbischoff Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Hello, Could you tell us the status of our submission for Red Wing Technologies? www.redwingtechnologies.com We've been trying for months to have our listing added, but no response. Thank you.
uzs980 Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Re: Status of listing We can only check this if we know the category you submitted to.
Guest bbischoff Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Re: Status of listing Business/Business Services/Consulting
uzs980 Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Re: Status of listing I have found a submission of February 6th in that category. But Business: Business Services: Consulting is a very general category with hundreds of sites waiting for review. That may take a lot of time. Are you sure there isn't a more specific category for your site? Note that you may also submit your site to the appropriate Regional category, which would in your case be Regional: North America: United States: Minnesota: Localities: M: Minneapolis: Business and Economy or a subcategory of that. Regional submissions are often reviewed quicker and you'd still have the chance to be listed in Business. Yours, Robert
Guest bbischoff Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Re: Status of listing Robert, thank-you for the suggestion. We'd also fit one layer down: Business/Business Services/Consulting/Outsourcing. However, it doesn't look like there is an editor for that category.
uzs980 Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Re: Status of listing Please read the description of Business: Business Services: Consulting: Outsourcing. It says: "This category specifically covers consultants that offer consulting services to enable clients to outsource some of their current functions. To qualify as 'outsourcing', the client must already have assets and personnel to perform the current functions. The client must intend to transfer these assets and personnel to an external service provider." Does this fit your company? What about Business: Industrial Goods and Services: Engineering: Consultants: Control Systems? And please don't decide where to submit by looking for an editor name. That doesn't matter. Submit to the most appropriate category. There is no category without an editor, there are only categories without their own listed editors. And if you submit to the wrong category first, one will have to move your submission to the appropriate category first, and then it'll start waiting for review there. It's just slowing down things. Don't do it. Yours, Robert
Guest bbischoff Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Re: Status of listing You're right, that definition of "Outsourcing" doesn't fit what we do. I checked out the Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Engineering/Consultants/Control_Systems. Reasonable fit, I wish it included Sensing and Control as part of the description.
Guest bbischoff Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Re: Status of listing I believe that I've found a better fit: Business: Business Services: Consulting: Science and Industry I see other companies in this category that are very similar to what we do.
Guest bbischoff Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Re: Status of listing Hello Robert, About five months back we submitted our site www.redwingtechnologies.com to: Business: Business Services: Consulting: Science and Industry Any idea of how we're doing in the que?
Guest acropelius Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Re: Status of listing You have also submitted on 6 Mar and 23 April! Did you also realize that each time you submit, the new submission overwrites the old and sends the site back down to the bottom of the queue? The submission is waiting in unreviewed in the bottom 1/3 of about 100 other patiently waiting sites. Please don't submit again. Check back in a month or so. And "NO" we aren't all named "Robert"... I think!!
Guest bbischoff Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Re: Status of listing Thanks for the information on how the que works. Does the editor contact you when they start the review? Or send a note when the review is complete? Obviously, not an expert on how the process works, so the help is appreciated. :-)
uzs980 Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Re: Status of listing Normally no note is sent. So you'll just have to check the category in order to know - or ask here again after at least one or two months if you can't find your site listed.
raggedyrugs Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 Re: Status of listing Awaiting review with less then 100 others. Please "bookmark" and use "this" thread when asking again in 1-2 months?
