Hi,

I need help submitting my site <removed> to dmoz.

The appropriate category is "dmoz/shopping/directories" but when I go

to that page, I can not find the "suggest url" link to submit my site.

There is an "update url" but that does not help me.

My site is a shopping directory and the only appropriate category is

dmoz/shopping/directories. Please help me submit my site. Here is my

site info:

url: <removed>

title: <removed>

description: Mega Shopping Mall/Directory with Hundreds of Major Online

Shopping Stores.

Thanks.

It should not matter if the links are affiliate/partner links or not. They are valid links to real/major stores listed in my mega mall. My site is a true shopping directory and should qualify for listing. I don't understand the criterias for ineligibility.

I reviewed the sites listed under the dmoz/shopping/directories and I can NOT figure out how some of those sites have been qualified as shopping directories. I found some that are just like mine but they have been accepted and mine is being denied. I found some that don't exist anymore and some others that have tons of broken links. I start wondering about the quality of this directory. Anyway, Here is my assessment of the existing listing under the dmoz/shopping/directories category: (my comments as preceded by >>>>)

OK, grant for a moment that you've shown that your directory is the same as all those others. What you needed to have done instead was to show that your directory was DIFFERENT from all those others -- that is, that it had unique content.

And, in any case, I wouldn't be surprised to see some of those sites disappear next time they are reviewed, though -- so long as the ODP is online, it will be hard to come up with "unique shopping links" (by ODP standards.) Even sites that once upon a time were listable will become more and more completely redundant, to the point that we serve customers best by not listing them.

OK, my site is similar to these other sites in the sense that they all carry listing directories of a large number of stores. But we have a lot more than a bunch of links in our site. It is a real shopping directory with real members and tons of real/major partner stores. The stores are grouped in different shopping categories (close to a hundered not all visible). Each category page offer a list of related shopping categories. It also offers different search options to help visitors locate stores in their interest. It is open to the general public and offer benefits to our shopping club members ... It also offers shopping coupons, specials and deals; and we are working on offering product search lisitngs as well to help our visitors narrow their search and find the right stores and for their shopping needs.

Thanks.
