Jurassik Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Is this abuse??? Well, I actually am not sure but one and the same PAGE of a site is listed in two different categories. The categories are: http://dmoz.org/Society/Issues/Fraud/Internet/ and http://dmoz.org/Society/Issues/Fraud/ The page is http://www.womenrussia.com/blacklist.htm I really am not sure whether it is abuse, but still it seems strange. And besides different pages of this site is listed 7(!!!) times in different categories. Just see http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=womenrussia Thanks a lot!
Jurassik Posted November 23, 2004 Author Posted November 23, 2004 Is this question of no value in this thread? I was of some other opinion. Please explain it to me. I have read thе rules and now I see sth quite opposite.
jeanmanco Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 An editor looked into this and removed one of the listings on 19 November. Sometimes double listing happens by accident, as different editors find a site themselves and list it. I am reviewing the other deep links. Sometimes content which seemed enough for a listing a few years ago no longer adds much to a category with more comprehensive sites subsequently listed. Any changes may not be visible immediately on the public side. Thank you for drawing attention to this issue.
Jurassik Posted November 23, 2004 Author Posted November 23, 2004 Well, nothing seems to have changed! Have a look: http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=womenrussia
jgwright Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Well' date=' nothing seems to have changed! Have a look:[/b'] http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=womenrussia Repeat: I am reviewing the other deep links ... Any changes may not be visible immediately on the public side.
jeanmanco Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 As I said - Any changes may not be visible immediately on the public side. Also the Open Directory's search facility does not update instantly. I think it updates about once a week.
