Guest jamie_ton Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 I'm the owner of http://www.edrugnet.com and http://www.1drugstore-online.com/ that already listed in: http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Pharmacy/Online_Pharmacies/ For my new business strategy I have submitted http://www.edrugnet.com/ to http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Pharmacy/Online_Pharmacies/ a few times several months ago and I forgot to think it can causes DMOZ editor thought it's mirror site of http://www.1drugstore-online.com/. When I saw from my log there is an editor visited http://www.edrugnet.com/ and not listed it, I thought there is a problem with my site and then I have emailed to all editors of http://dmoz.org/Shopping/, some editors told me http://www.edrugnet.com/ was deleted because it is an aliased site and fraternal mirror. If possible can you change the url from http://www.1drugstore-online.com/ that already listed to http://www.edrugnet.com/? Because I would like to use http://www.1drugstore-online.com/ to promote in off-line media such as magazine, newspaper, etc. only and use http://www.edrugnet.com/ to promote in internet instead belong to my new business strategy. I have updated the url in the below page already: http://dmoz.org/cgi-bin/update.cgi?where=Shopping/Health/Pharmacy/Online_Pharmacies Best regards, Jamie
Meta hutcheson Posted February 13, 2003 Meta Posted February 13, 2003 If the old URL is still working (which it is) and there is no indication at the old site that the NEW URL is preferred (as there isn't), the editor should NOT change the URL. The reason is simple: it enables the editor to easily keep the ODP listing working, while avoiding tedious investigations and not falling victim to malicious listing-hijack submittals. We don't want to waste the editor's valuable time on tedious investigations of the bona fides of every submittal. We just review websites. So, if you want the new URL to be listed, you can either take down the old URL, or put the NEW domain name as the header or home page link. Otherwise, we're happy with the old one.
