Guest pfox Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Hi, I applied on 1/11/2002 15:40 to have our site www.cisilion.com listed in http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Routers_and_Routing/Vendors/ The category (and the one above it) has no editor, I've (politely) emailed an editor 2 categories up but havn't heard anything - a status report would be very much appreciated. Thanks Paul
dfy Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Since you only service the UK, your sites was listed in Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Computers/Sales_and_Services/Network_Services_and_Products last September. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
Guest pfox Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Thanks dfy, yes I know we're already listed in the regional category, I thought it would be ok for us to have a more general listing too, but no problem if its not. For the record, we do service other (primarily European) customers too, but its no biggie if we've been rejected on those grounds. Interesting however that our closest competitor (also UK based) is listed in this category. Thanks for the feedback Paul
Meta hutcheson Posted February 17, 2003 Meta Posted February 17, 2003 >Interesting however that our closest competitor (also UK based) People say this a lot. But it's completely irrelevant. What would have been relevant if they regarded _you_ as _their_ closest competitor IN THE PORTION OF THEIR BUSINESS THAT CAUSED THEM TO BE LISTED IN THAT CATEGORY. Not even a horse of a different color: more like an ungulate of a different genus. Which doesn't say that they both couldn't be true at the same time. Make sure that your website includes SOME kind of evidence of services provided from or to points in Europe. Give Contact numbers or addresses of offices in France, name Belgian customers or German-based projects, give prices in Portuguese doubloons, ... whatever. Then resubmit. Mention in the proposed description something like [provides xxxx services throughout the EU] or whatever. (Did I mention make sure that information can be easily verified at the website!)
Guest pfox Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 Thanks very much Hutcheson, I'll bear that in mind and make our market focus clearer before I consider resubmiting. regards, Paul
