Guest canIhelp Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 Hello - Submitted http://www.weightlossfriends.com/ this site about a month ago, to this category: http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Weight_Loss/ I know, there are already a lot of pages there...and my bet is lots more, but would it be possible to find out if I have any odds of getting listed...at some point...? Many many thanks. BTW, - I saw an referring url from dmoz that had 'chainsaw' in it in my logs, ( i think ) what does that mean? "chainsaw=1&sort=ip&super=1" was the string... thanks again.
Meta windharp Posted February 21, 2003 Meta Posted February 21, 2003 You are right, there are lots of waiting sites. Its a difficult area, where tons of spam are submitted. So your submision is waiting with a lot of others for an editor to review it. "chainsaw" is just a mode of listing lots of unreviewed entries on one screen, originally designed to sort out spam, thats where the name comes from. Nowadays it just means that an editor who prefers that form for editing was around, it is more convenient for some tasks than the "normal" view. Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
uzs980 Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 A submission of January 19th is still in the queue for this category. No need to resubmit. However there are more than 200 sites waiting for review, so it may take some time. You may come back to this thread after one or two months to ask about the status of your site again - if it hasn't been listed by then. Yours, Robert
Guest canIhelp Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 Hello again - I really hate to be a bother, but I recall somebody suggesting I come back in a few months...the submission for this site was made in January, I know - there are lots of sites ahead of mine. If perhaps I could get somebody to review it, I would be most grateful. We added a new feature to our site, the 'weight loss journal' since we submitted, perhaps if it isn't too much to ask, the final description might include mention of it...? We're quite proud of that feature, as we've seen nothing like it on any other site on the net...though of course, we already mentioned in our description our other unique features. Many thanks again, I do hate to trouble you all.
John_Caius Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 Now over 300 sites waiting for review. Ordered by date you're about half way up. Sorry. If there's a more specific category that you'd be better suited for (e.g. Support_Groups) then you should resubmit there. I haven't extensively reviewed your site so it's up to you.
Guest canIhelp Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 Hello again - I do hate to trouble you all (this is an incredibly active forum - lots of posts to wade through!) but...it's now August...so, I thought I would ask again (if it's not too much of a bother). Many, many, many heartfelt thanks in advance!
dfy Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 Last month an editor came across your site, decided that it belonged in the Support_Groups sub-category, and moved it there. It's now waiting in a smallish queue for another editor to take a look at it.
