Guest brakle Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 I applied to be an editor and was rejected because of my titles/descriptions. I read the guidelines and I guess I don't understand why they were rejected. brakle was my intended name. Is there any clarification I can get? I reapplied, but wanted help incase I get rejected again. I don't want to keep reapplying making the same mistake over and over again. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
uzs980 Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 We might discuss your titles and descriptions if you post them here.
Guest brakle Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Unfortunately I didn't save my first application. I guess I should wait for the outcome of the new application, which I saved this time, and ask then. Thanks
giz Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Since most of what you will be doing as an editor is writing Titles and Descriptions for websites belonging to other people, it is vitally important that you are able to do this to a very high standard, and to the ODP guidelines. Sub-quality editing will otherwise lead to accusations of abuse from those other submitters, and/or unwanted attention from the Meta editors who oversee the overall quality of the directory.

But for a new editor application we are *not* looking for perfection. Mainly just potential and a little common sense. -- Editor applications are not saved, so I can't help explain why you were rejected.
