Guest elektra Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 I submitted http://www.holidayvillas.pt approximately 3 weeks ago and have just placed a re-submission request (Regional: Europe: Portugal: Regions: Algarve: Travel and Tourism: Lodging: Vacation Rentals: H) given that it hadn't been indexed yet. I understand that this is a community of limited human resourses but was wondering whether there is any way of knowing how soon this could happen.
Meta kokopeli Posted February 25, 2003 Meta Posted February 25, 2003 First, you should give a month before requesting status. I do not have access to that specific part of the directory to give specifics, but your site has not been deleted from that category and is therefore waiting to be reviewed if it was indeed submitted there. Do not submit again, by resubmitting you overwrite the submission date and send your site to the end of the queue. It has not been deleted, and therefore it is still pending review. Please try to be patient, three weeks isn't a long time--some sites wait much longer for review. In a month you can come back to this thread and again request a status of where your site is at.
Guest dalguard Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 Here's a clickable link: http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Portugal/Regions/Algarve/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Vacation_Rentals/H/ You're in the queue. The queue is short. Resubmitting confuses things.
Guest elektra Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 Thank you kokopeli and dalguard for enlightening me. I am a newbie at SEO and specifically at submitting to dmoz. I've read Danny Sullivan's guide on the dmoz where he suggests chasing politely after a 3 week period the editor for the category. Not knowing who that might be I thought I'd re-submit. Not exactly the same thing ;-) This website is a project for a relative of mine and I'm quite keen on seeing it do well on search engines.
