Back in April I asked the status of my url starone.com. I recieved a message from an editor that my url had not been listed because another url was already listed. After further investigation I found that one of our other urls, http://www.star-one.com was already listed. I would like to remove this url and replace it with our main url, starone.com. The reason being star-one.com was our main url many years ago. I would like to use our current main url. What should I do to achieve this?

Go to the category the current listing is in, and use the 'update url' link on the top right of the screen. NB we will not change the listing if the old site works and does not contain some form of redirect to the new url [text message, javascript redirect, 301/302 redirect] (after all you wouldn't want someone hijacking your listing, would you :) )

Gimmster,

Please help. I have done what you suggested a couple of times and my listing still isn't changed. Star-one.com will be going away in a few days and it has not be changed yet. Just to recap, I want to replace http://www.star-one.com in your directory with http://www.starone.com. It was changed for a couple of hours this past Friday, then I went back to show my boss it was changed and there star-one.com was showing up again.

The listing has really been changed. The public servers update asynchronously; within a week or so they should all definitely show the new hyphenless URL that is already in the database.

Thanks for the info! How long does it take for the search to get updated. Because it is still not showing up when searching. It is like you said and showing up in the category list. Also, I just made changes to my description. How long will it take for those changes to take affect?

ideally weekly, but it's further behind than that at the moment. It's not a priority though, the category listing is what we deem important.

Updates are done when they get done, there is no timetable. In this case that change is not acceptable "Greater Cincinnati MLS listings" is not, by definition, on your site. You don't provide the MLS, you merely show something available for any RE agent that pays to show them. Descriptions are about what is unique on your site.
