Guest awl Posted March 3, 2003 Posted March 3, 2003 After being rejected three times in various unrelated categories because they were "too big" or "too busy" I have finally found the perfect place and re-applied. This time round, I didn't get an auto-reply from the daemon that checks my e-mail address. Can someone check and see if I am in the race? Regional/Oceania/Australia/Business_and_Economy/Financial_Services/Online_Banking
donaldb Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Your application is in the queue waiting for review. You must have received and replied to the email confirmation or it wouldn't be in the queue.
Guest awl Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Yes I did but usually after you confirm your address you get a reply back from daemon@dmoz.org that tells you that the application is now in progress. I didn't get that this time round and I wasn't sure if it went ok or not. Thank you for checking it out for me. Now comes the wait.........
Guest awl Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Ok, I have been rejected again because my sample URLs included a few credit unions and the meta who reviewed me feels that credit unions are deliberately not listed there. The category description for /Regional/Oceania/Australia/Business_and_Economy/Financial_Services/Online_Banking/ is "This category contains online banking sites for Australian financial institutions." So I submitted two credit unions and one bank. I don't understand....
Guest wrathchild Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Sounds like somebody doesn't know what a Credit Union is.
Guest awl Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 No, it just got sorted out. The person who reviewed me was going by the guidelines that can be seen by editors and metas which specifically stated "no credit unions" but the public description I went by didn't say so and that made most of my sample URLs irelevant. A meta from this forum and the person who was reviewing my application hooked up and sorted everything out. Now I have to study for a while and get into it.
