Guest Jon Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Site: www.mortgagetree.com.au Site Name: Mortgage Tree Description: Personal Financial Managers. Products, advice, and online applications Some time ago I submitted my site to DMOZ. It was accepted and placed in the following category Regional: Oceania: Australia: Queensland: Localities: S: Southport: Business and Economy Since then we have made some changes to the site to reflect the expansion of our company and location of reps. About a month ago when these changes were made I made a submission on the dmoz site to have our site moved to a different category with the following reasoning "Our website has been recently updated. The changes in the description are to include more descriptive information regarding the industry we are in as this is not specified in the category we are currently listed (Regional: Oceania: Australia: Queensland: Localities: S: Southport: Business and Economy). A category like Top: Business: Financial Services: Mortgages: Regional: Australia or Top: Regional: Oceania: Australia: Business and Economy: Financial Services would be better suited to our site and business as our scope is beyond Southport. Unfortunately at this stage there are no editors for the suggested categories. Thank you for your time and consideration. " As detailed above, if it was not seen appropriate to move our site, then I requested to have the description changed to include a more descriptive sentence about the industry that we are involved in as this is not specified in the category. I was wondering if someone could inform me of the status of this request. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Jon
Guest Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Your update request has not been looked at, it was submitted 5 Feb, and no-one has gotten to it yet. Your submitted description must have been written by a native German speaker, although even then they only capitalise the nouns. - Personal Financial Managers. Home and Investment Property Loans, Financial Advice, Personal Insurance, and Online Applications. As regards the other issues - Southport is the only physical location of the company I can find (having 'agents' or 'representatives' does not give you a physical presence elsewhere) - even if it did you claim to only have reps in Qld. It may, possibly be considered for inclusion in http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Financial_Services/Mortgages/Regional/Australia/ , and I have forwarded a copy there.
Guest Jon Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Thank you for the response gimmster. And thank you also for forwarding my submission on to the alternative category. I appreciate your time. Jon
