Can you please let me know what is happenning with the inclusion of http://www.africastay.com/ ?

 

The site is listed under http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Africa/South_Africa/Travel_and_Tourism/Travel_Services/

 

According to the rules I'm allowed 2 listings therefore I submitted to http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Consolidators/

http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Guides_and_Directories/

 

but so far no reply or results.

Marian, they don't say you can have three listings do they! And to gain additional listings you must be a perfect fit for the category chosen.

 

Consolidators - This category lists only travel consolidators - entities which negotiate bulk contracts with travel suppliers, and then sell those services to travel agents (or, occasionally, the general public), usually at a discount. Consolidators which are limited to specific services, like airfares, cruises, or lodging, must be submitted to the more specific category.

 

I see no evidence on the site you are a consolidator - you say in fact "DEAL DIRECT - SAVE MONEY GUARANTEED" - so consider this one a reject.

 

 

Travel Guidels and Directories - This category lists only comprehensive travel guides (descriptive content) and directories (primarily lists of other sites) relevant for global travel.

 

Your site isn't global, it is limited to one particular part of the globe. Therefore it does not qualify there either so consider this one a reject.

 

In fact you are specifically advised to submit to the Regional branch instead, but you are already listed there so you won't get another. In simple terms, your site is not one of those that we would consider for double listing. Sorry.

Thanks for your honest feedback oneeye. My point is though that one of my direct competitors has the site listed in almoust all the countries in Africa and a few other categories. They do have a nice and informative site on Africa, I must say but, I feel that if they allowed to, I should get a chance as well. I'll be very greatfull if you could have another look at my site www.africastay.com and maybe suggest a few related categories where you think I might have a chance.

No, but if you tell us who the competitor is and what sites you feel are inappropriate, we'll take another look at them.

 

Having one site incorrectly listed does not justify intentionally listing an additional site incorrectly.
