Dorothy Arnold Posted January 23, 2005 Author Posted January 23, 2005 If you look on the home page of http://expertproperties.8m.net "Please also check my new websites: http://www.turkeyexpert.co.uk and http://www.turkeyoffplan.com and www.expertvillas.com"
Dorothy Arnold Posted January 26, 2005 Author Posted January 26, 2005 As no one has replied, is this allowable?
spectregunner Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Perhaps no one has replied because it is not clear what you are asking. Are you asking if they can be submitted? Have you submitted and are asking a status check? Are you listed and looking for an update?
bobrat Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 My understanding of the question is: IF http://expertproperties.8m.net/ is listed in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Middle_East/Turkey/Provinces/Aydin/Districts/Kusadasi/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/ why is http://www.expertvillas.com/ allowed to be listed in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Middle_East/Turkey/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/ since they belong to the same person. --------- http://www.turkeyexpert.co.uk and http://www.turkeyoffplan.com are not listed in ODP - so they are not an issue - they just appeared as part of the quote from the first web site
Dorothy Arnold Posted January 28, 2005 Author Posted January 28, 2005 Sorry for not making myself clear. Is it allowed to have two sites in the directory, when one of those sites has the same/similar content to the other.
spectregunner Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Generally speaking, the answer is no, if the ownership is common. Someone can have multiple sites in the directory, but the content must be wildly different: orchids, Chevy Pick-up trucks, and knitting might be sufficiently different, but if one also has a site that discusses knitting orchid-themed seat covers for Chevy pickups, then only one site would be listable.
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted January 28, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted January 28, 2005 There is another factor to be considered, though. We sometimes list an agent and an agency separately. More research than I've done would be needed to determine whether the first site is an agent and the second the agency.
Dorothy Arnold Posted January 29, 2005 Author Posted January 29, 2005 Both sites are as an agent. Does this mean one will be removed?
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted January 29, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted January 29, 2005 Probably. I can't edit in that category, though.
Dorothy Arnold Posted January 31, 2005 Author Posted January 31, 2005 Does that mean nothing will be done about it?
Meta nea Posted February 1, 2005 Meta Posted February 1, 2005 No, it doesn't mean that at all. Many different editors can read this post, and many of them can edit in that category. We appreciate the heads up - it might have taken some time for us to notice this otherwise. :moz: Curlie Meta and kMeta editor nea
Dorothy Arnold Posted February 8, 2005 Author Posted February 8, 2005 Just checked and both sites are still there.
Dorothy Arnold Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 Turkey section has been worked on but both sites are still there. Also noticed Batu International http://www.realestateturkey.nl/ in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Middle_East/Turkey/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/ and mirror site Batu Intermediary http://www.realestateeuropa.com/ in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Middle_East/Turkey/Provinces/Antalya/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/
Dorothy Arnold Posted March 2, 2005 Author Posted March 2, 2005 Just checked and all sites are still there. Any point in reporting?
Dorothy Arnold Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 Thanks for that. Just spotted in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Middle_East/Turkey/Provinces/Mugla/Districts/Fethiye/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/ that http://www.vartur.com/ Vartur Emlak - Features a database including plots of land, restaurants, villas and hotels for sale or rent. just leads to a page with about 10 links on it. No content. No database. No properties for sale.
shama Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 While on the same subject of the latest Turkey cat. above (that is, http://dmoz.org/Regional/Middle_East/Turkey/Provinces/Mugla/Districts/Fethiye/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/), I can't help but notice the following: BNA Group - This site (page really) is nothing more than a list of 3 external links. Is this really a quality site? Euro-Lycia Tourism - Luxury, beautiful - can anyone confirm that? Lycian Properties - It's Lycia, not Lycian. Sunshine Properties - It's a UK-based company, so should it even be listed under Turkey? Vartur Emlak - It's just Vartur, no Emlak, and is just another list of external links - no content otherwise.
jeanmanco Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 #19 BNA Group - The group has split its site into three sites. Rather than list all three in the same category, I think it's better to list the one page that links to all three. Vartur Emlak - Had been removed (see above), but changes do not show immediately on the public side. Your other points are helpful, thank you. I'm dealing with them, but the changes may not be visible to you for a day or two.
motsa Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I'm closing this thread -- posts about dead links or inappropriate content should only be in the Report Hijacks, Dead Links & Inappropriate ODP Content Here ONLY thread that is stickied at the top of this forum and not in separate threads. Thanks.
