Jonny Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 I hope I am posting this appropriately. We paid a marketing company to submit our site to DMOZ and this was at the beginning of last summer. They cannot tell me how or when or what categories they submitted the site to, In fact i cannot get in touch with that company. I am curious about the submission status for http://www.everclearwindows.com should I re-submit this site I greatly appreciate any help Thank you Jonny
bobrat Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 In this case, without knowing the category, we cannot tell you if it was submitted or not. Your best option is to suggest the site again, and ask in this thread at least a month after.
oneeye Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 Not waiting in http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Oregon/Localities/G/Gladstone/Business_and_Economy/ but that is where you are best to resubmit.
Jonny Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 the URL you listed is an "Editors" URL and I am not an editor. Also both of the the sites i have inquired about: http://www.everclearwindows.com http://www.garage-doors-and-parts.com can be listed as regional but sell worldwide mainly the US and Canada I would hope to list them nationally I greatly appreciate your help and suggestions and if possible would like to no that by resubmitting them in the URL or category you suggest, that it would not compromise previous attempts to list them or become an issue where they were not listed due to being submitted to many times, if in fact that is the case. My problem is that I can no longer get accurate information as to the attempts to submit them previously. Is it possible that they are not listed due to being submitted to many time or submitted inappropriately Thank you very much for taking the time to respond and all of you help Jonny
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted January 27, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted January 27, 2005 Try http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Oregon/Localities/G/Gladstone/Business_and_Economy/ And we list businesses where they are located, not according to their service area. I didn't check your site, but, if you are in Gladstone, Oregon, then that's the category you belong in.
Jonny Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 Great Hey thank you very much I will re-submit both URLS as they are the same company with two different product lines in the same location thank you Jonny
motsa Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 They won't both be listed there. http://www.garage-doors-and-parts.com/ is a subsite of http://www.everclearwindows.com/ and so only http://www.everclearwindows.com/ would be listed.
Jonny Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 Independent they are both independant sites only associated by the ownership. They are hosted on totally different servers with different domain names. they are actually different companies thank you I hope that resolves the issue and I have already submitted them as suggested by the other "Editor" Jonny
oneeye Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 So http://www.everclearwindows.com/garage-door-parts.html is a figment? http://www.garage-doors-and-parts.com/ is rejected. It is a related site, as per our definition of related (which is all that counts), and has no original content, that original content being on the former site. BTW removing the garage door content from the windows site will not make any difference to the decision as they will still be related. DMOZ takes account of the ultimate beneficiary of a business not the corporate/legal/accounting position. Related by ultimate ownership, related by business sector. Sorry.
Jonny Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 I see I understand now what you meant. I very much appreciate your help thank you that may be why GDAP was never listed before. At least we now know that the Everclear site in in the que once again thank you Jonny
