Guest cbc_info Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 Hi. On 20 February 2003, we submitted http://www.cryptogamicbotany.com to the http://www.dmoz.org/Arts/Genres/Environment_and_Nature/ category. On that date, we also submitted http://www.cryptogamicbotany.com/lm_press_seaweed.html to the http://dmoz.org/Science/Biology/Botany/Phycology/ category. We would appreciate an update if possible, and also advice at to whether these distinct sections of our site need to be on separate primary domains to be listed independently. The second link (and a third as well) are independent publications with essentially independent audiences. Thanks for your time and appreciate your organization.
Meta hutcheson Posted March 11, 2003 Meta Posted March 11, 2003 To answer the second question first, the Phycology listing has been added. (The other listing is still in the queue.) As for the first question, that's IMO precisely the kind of quirky unique content -- related (but not obviously so) to the business; gaining authoritativeness from association with the business, but accessible to the general public and with usefulness independent of its advertising value -- for which deeplinks were invented. No, there's no need to put it on a separate domain.
Guest cbc_info Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 Thanks -- appreciate the quick response and feedback. We strive for quirky and unique.
Guest cbc_info Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 Hi -- just bumping this to see if our submission of http://www.cryptogamicbotany.com to the http://www.dmoz.org/Arts/Genres/Environment_and_Nature/ category has been reviewed, rejected, or remains in the queue. The site was originally submitted on 29 January 2003 (correcting this date from my earlier post in this string), and I was told it was awaiting review as of 10 March 2003. Thanks.

Alucard Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 The site is still in the list to be reviewed, which contains about 20 entries.
