peterfoley Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 Hello, I have over the past 18 months have tried to be listed. I am a newbie and am probably doing it wrong. I re-listed my site under http://dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/Cables/ my site is http://www.showmecables.com Can you please tell me the status Thank you
oneeye Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 http://www.Integratednetworkcable.com is awaiting review by an editor. You can check back here in the same thread in 6 months if you don't see it listed by then. Thanks. Do not resubmit http://www.showmecables.com please.
peterfoley Posted April 22, 2005 Author Posted April 22, 2005 Any movement on www.showmecables.com? Hello, Can you please give me any updates available for listing http://www.showmecables.com Thanks you

peterfoley Posted May 5, 2005 Author Posted May 5, 2005 Just anxious.....I will stop back later...Thanks
peterfoley Posted May 18, 2005 Author Posted May 18, 2005 Status of STATUS I have read and fully understand why moderators would want to end the status forum. It must be very time consuming. My question would be then: How do we find out the status of a subm, itted site ? Will there be a databases that is updated by moderators so that people can see the progress? I obviosly want my site listed on DMOZ and I am willing to help get it there. If I wait until June to write to you.....I am afraid you will be gone. Please respond. Thanks Pete
spectregunner Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 We will be here, we just won't be ansering any more status requests. DMOZ search is avaialble and functional You can always use google search and restrict it to only search DMOZ. There are other search engines that will allow you to restrict your search to DMOZ.
peterfoley Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 Google limited? If I am not listed in DMOZ, then how would a google search that limits it to dmoz help me? Would it just let me know if we get listed in DMOZ? Will http://www.showmecables.com be listed in DMOZ? Any help before you guys sign off would be appreciated.
Meta pvgool Posted May 19, 2005 Meta Posted May 19, 2005 First of all: we won't be sigining off. We just won't answer status requests anymore. Ofcourse searching with Google as Spectregunner meant will not give you an answer if your site is not listed. But it is a very good alternative (and in my eyes a beter one) for using the DMOZ search. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
Meta hutcheson Posted May 19, 2005 Meta Posted May 19, 2005 Basically, you won't know what's happening to a submittal until and unless it is accepted (and it may be accepted to a different category than you suggested.) Without this information, you'll just have to follow the submittal policy. And even WITH this information, you can't really do anything unless you understand the ODP process -- and in that case, you'll have already figured out the submittal policy is the best approach regardless of what other information you have.
