AgentWilliam Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 I am a real estate agent in San Diego, and my website AgentWilliam.com still isn't in DMOZ. I submitted to DMOZ on the 26 of January. Help! The place I submitted it to was: Regional: North America: United States: California: Localities: S: San Diego: Business and Economy: Real Estate: Residential: Agents (185) My website can be found at Thanks, AgentWilliam
Meta pvgool Posted February 6, 2005 Meta Posted February 6, 2005 1) we totaly don't care about Google ranking 2) you are allowed to ask for status 1 month after you last made a suggestion I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
motsa Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 And when you come back, please make sure that you format your request according to our forum guidelines.
drmike Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 FYI, it's a 4 now. http://www.prlookup.com/search.php?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=AgentWilliam.com Not that it matters. Just wanted to throw that in there. -drmike
spectregunner Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Instead of adding worthless information about your Google ranking, you should have spent some quality time reading the faq and figuring out what else you definitely need to provide in order to get a status check. Hint: clickable link to the category.
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted February 7, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted February 7, 2005 How about -- wait one month after submission, also. Come back to this thread on or after February 26, if you suggested the site on January 26.
AgentWilliam Posted February 7, 2005 Author Posted February 7, 2005 SpectreGunner, I hope this is what you mean: My website can be found at AgentWilliam.com The place I submitted it to was: Regional: North America: United States: California: Localities: S: San Diego: Business and Economy: Real Estate: Residential: Agents (185) I edited my first message and added the clickable links. Is it sufficient to add it to that first message, or is there a different section I should post the clickable link in? Thanks, AgentWilliam
drmike Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 I believe a clickable link to the DMOZ catagory you submitted your site to as well as a clickable link to your site. Don't try using your own html. Try using the icon that looks like the planet Earth with a turned sideways 8 laying in front of it. It'll say "Insert Hyperlink" when you point your mouse at it. Hope this helps, -drmike
AgentWilliam Posted February 7, 2005 Author Posted February 7, 2005 DrMike, Thank you. It did help. I tried checking my rank status on Google and it shows up as a 4 . I tried adding the w's and it shows up as a 0 . One of my past clients said he could not find me in the DMOZ directory. He eventually found me, but I'd like my past real estate clients to know how to keep in touch with me if they missplace my business card. If they check DMOZ, I'd like to be there for them. Thanks also for your guidance with my clickable links. Thanks again for your help!
oneeye Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Copying and pasting the URL from the address bar when on the category page also works. The forum software will add the tags.
oneeye Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Well we've got to the bit where the clickable link works. Now as to when the site was last suggested - as has been previously said you have to wait a month from that time. So bump this thread on Feb 26th and we'll let you know the status. Thanks.
AgentWilliam Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 Site review request AgentWilliam here with a request to have my site reviewed. Thanks to pvgool, motsa, drmike, spectregunner, arubin, and oneeye for your past posts. William :moz:
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted April 18, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted April 18, 2005 Your suggestion of January 26 is waiting for review. The site was rejected at least three times previously for having minimal uniqute content (with our definition of unique content). You may ask for status again in 6 months.
