Guest Scriv Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 Hi, I have 2 sites that I just cannot get listed. The first is http://www.italiancookerycourse.com/ which I first submitted in December 2001, and the other is http://www.quality-villas.co.uk/ which was first submitted in August 2002. Any help/advice is most appreciated. Cheers, Mark Scriven.

lachenm Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 As hutcheson correctly notes, we ask that you provide us with the category in which you submitted. However, I am still able to tell you something about these sites. Your www.italiancookerycourse.com submission was deleted from Regional: Europe: Italy: Regions: Tuscany: Travel and Tourism and Business: Industries: Hospitality: Food Service: Culinary Institutes because it was deemed to be a subsite of the already listed http://www.casaombuto.com/ in the first case, and because it didn't meet the definition of "Culinary Institute" in the second case. A submission remains in the unreviewed queue of Recreation: Travel: Specialty Travel: Culinary with fewer than 100 other sites. That's all I can tell you without knowing where else you may have submitted. Your www.quality-villas.co.uk site will not be listed, as it is a mirror of the already listed http://www.quality-villas.com/ .

Guest Scriv Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 Thanks for the update. Could you please tell me where the www.quality-vilas.com site is listed as I can't find it anywhere, even under a company name search. Thanks.
lachenm Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 Hmmm. I may have misread the note. It says that the agency is already listed, not that specific URL. Are there any other domain names your agency owns and may have been listed under?
motsa Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 Please don't create a new thread to ask about sites you already asked about before. You should have just posted a new reply to the original thread instead.
lachenm Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 Thanks motsa. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> I must be having short-term memory loss or something. I thought these looked familiar, but I didn't remember why.
Guest Scriv Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 I couldn't find my original thread....... I'll check with our webmaster to find out all of the domains that we currently own. We only promote the www.quality-villas.co.uk domain, so how would I go about getting the URL swapped if you have already listed one of our other domains?
lachenm Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 Use the "Update URL" link on the top of the category page where it is listed. And to keep track of your original thread, you can either add it to your bookmarks/favorites, or just look up your name in the User List (there's a "Show All User's Posts" link at the bottom).
Guest Scriv Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 I've now found out that we have the following domains; quality-villas.com quality-villas.co.uk qualityvillas.co.uk qualityvillascaribbean.com qualityvillasgreece.com qualityvillasski.com qualityvillasitaly.co.uk However, I still can't find any of them listed in the Open Directory. Any feedback? Thanks, Mark Scriven.
lachenm Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 Hi Mark, Thanks for checking, but, well...that's not quite all of them. As I noted in the original thread, your company also owns www.luxury-villas-france.com and www.luxuryvillasfrance.com. Perhaps you could ask again if there are any others they might have been listed under. It's possible, for example, that they may have registered some domains a long time ago and have forgotten about them. It is also possible that there was a glitch and that they are not currently listed. However, in a case like this, where a company owns a lot of domains, I'd like to be absolutely sure that none of their mirrors and redirects are listed before taking any action.
