Status of http://TexasRealEstateClub.com, please..

Hello,

I'd like to find out the status of my submission, please. I submitted www.TexasRealEstateClub.com to the http://dmoz.org/Business/Investing/Real_Estate/ category initially in November I think. Although the domain name has the word "Texas" and "Club" in it, the site is not a regional site nor is it a club which is why this category is the best choice. We have members from around the USA and even other countries and the site's very similar to the other sites listed on this page.

By mid-January when the site was still not listed (I think the submission guidelines mention something like two weeks), I emailed the category editors to see if I had somehow messed up the submission and/or to check the status. I never heard back.

In February I resubmitted, assuming my first submission never made it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The site has not been reviewed yet - be patient. Real estate sites is a difficult topic which receives a huge amount of spam, so review times are generally high there.

Btw: I dont have to tell you that a resubmission overwrites the old one, you surely read it in the other threads in here, right? ;-) So if an editor chooses to edit by submission date it will be put back to the end of the list...

Ah, and: Editors ususally do not answer mails. Reason is to reduce spam mails and idiotic discussions with people not accepting the ODP guidelines.

Re: Status of http://TexasRealEstateClub.com, plea

Sorry. I wasn't aware "a month" was literal. I was a few days short of a month. I'll try again in May. Thanks for the response.

Not very helpful...

I don't mean to be unappreciative for the hard work it must take as a volunteer, but "pending review" is not very helpful. That was also my April response as well.

Since I'm still not listed, wouldn't it be natural for me to assume I was still pending review? I thought the purpose of this forum was to actually get a status report? Otherwise, why have the forum titled the way it is?

To me a status report would be something to assist in managing my expectations. Something like "there are 476 sites ahead of you and best guess is it will be June before anyone gets to it". Or if that's too much hassle, how about "I scanned the first 100 in the queue and didn't see your site".

Sorry for venting a bit, but this is a very frustrating process. I understand the editors have frustrations, but I think they occasionally forget what it's like to be on this side.

Re: Not very helpful...

I understand your frustration. However, there is no way to predict how long it will be before someone reviews the site. It could be tomorrow or next year. The number of other sites pending review in that category has no bearing since we can jump around at will.

I wish I could give you a definite answer, but it's just not possible <img src="/images/icons/smirk.gif" alt="" />

How about "not rejected, not accepted" ? Tells you a little more, no?

Status reports do not include a detailed analysis of the category in question, they just include the status of the site.

Your status is "waiting for review".

Can someone please provide a status report on my submission? It's now been almost 6 months since the resubmission. Thank you.
