Guest roygbiv Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 Our site was www.bookinafrica.com was removed in December 2002. I queried this in this thread: http://www.resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=status&Number=21704&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 and was told by windharp that the site was seen as an affiliate (presumably of our company's other site www.africanrainbow.com which is listed under Regional: Africa: Travel and Tourism: Travel Services: Travel Agencies). As I said in my previous post, www.africanrainbow.com is a corporate site. It is targeted at travel agents and potential partners. To view the product content on this site you need to have been assigned a password. On the other hand www.bookinafrica.com is the direct (not affiliated) retail site for African Rainbow and is accessible by anybody. For that reason it is probably more useful to the public (and of course to us <img src="/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" /> ) to have www.bookinafrica.com listed. To be devastatingly honest, when I submitted www.africanrainbow.com in 2002, I simply used BookInAfrica's description as I never thought Bookinafrica would be considered to have the same content as AfricanRainbow.com. Is there any way I can now get AfricanRainbow out of the ODP and BookInAfrica in or have I been excommunicated?
Guest Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 >>excommunicated<< Isn't that a religious term? Anyhow, I don't believe your site will be listed (and a number of other mirror-ish sites you seem to have). Looking at the editing logs for the site, I don't think it ever has been listed. Are you thinking of another of your sites?
Guest Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 Ahh, I see that http://www.bookinafrica.com/biasparse.asp was once listed. Why are you asking about the main URL when that wasn't the page listed?
Guest roygbiv Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 I think we listed it like that (biasparse.asp) originally. It is listed correctly as www.bookinafrica.com/ in Yahoo.
Guest rfgdxm Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 >Isn't that a religious term? I wasn't aware the ODP is a religion. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />
totalxsive Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 You mean to say you don't worship the metas? You strange person <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />
Meta hutcheson Posted March 19, 2003 Meta Posted March 19, 2003 In order to maintain the meta's reputation for universal benevolence and beneficience, it is necessary for all ODP editors, and all webmasters who wish to retain their ODP listing, to search out this heretic and visit his body with violent and fatal damage, that the world may be made safe and peaceful.
Guest roygbiv Posted March 20, 2003 Posted March 20, 2003 Now I know what Iraqi dictators must feel like <img src="/images/icons/crazy.gif" alt="" />
Guest rfgdxm Posted March 20, 2003 Posted March 20, 2003 Just because the ODP isn't a religion doesn't mean that I don't acknowledge that metas have universal benevolence and beneficience. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />
