kodedjay Posted March 21, 2003 Posted March 21, 2003 Where should i list the following site? http://www.whitedog.co.uk Its a UK site and should be listed somewhere in the following section. http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Staffordshire/Stoke-on-Trent/ Im a little unsure as to where to put it as i dont think there is a suitable category. Is the category i suggested correct, or is there another one more suitable. thanks in advance for any help
Guest Posted March 21, 2003 Posted March 21, 2003 This site is waiting in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Toys_and_Games/Games/Video_Games/Console/ and would also be appropriate in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Staffordshire/Stoke-on-Trent/Business_and_Economy/ (eventually it will be moved into a shopping sub cat when there are enough shopping sites in Stoke-on-Trent)
kodedjay Posted March 21, 2003 Author Posted March 21, 2003 You say the site is waiting in the following category, http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Toys_and_Games/Games/Video_Games/Console/ (strange as i haven't submitted it yet?) If possible please take it out as we would much prefer it to be listed in, http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Toys_and_Games/Games/Video_Games/Console/Accessories/Mod_Chips/ I feel this is a far more relevant category as the whitedog website focuses primarily on 'mod chips' as you can see in the
tag please let me know if im ok to submit to this category and also, if possible, could you tell me when the site was origianlly submitted.
totalxsive Posted March 21, 2003 Posted March 21, 2003 If you want your site moving, just click on the 'Update URL' link in the category and ask for it to be moved. Because you want it moving into the subcat, the move can be done quite quickly - sometimes moving sites around the directory takes a long time because the editor handling the request may not have the ability to edit in the target category. However, in this case, any editor that can edit that category will be able to edit in the destination category .
Guest Posted March 21, 2003 Posted March 21, 2003 Someone submitted it 17/Dec/2002 to Games/Video_Games/Console_Platforms and it was sent from there to the shopping category. Maybe one of your fans
kodedjay Posted March 24, 2003 Author Posted March 24, 2003 You say that the site was submitted to the 'console_platforms' category. I cant find that cat? Plus, someone else said the site's been submitted to the http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Toys_and_Games/Games/Video_Games/Console/ category. I was told to click 'Update URL' so i could move the submission to the cat that i want the site listed in, which is; http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Toys_and_Games/Games/Video_Games/Console/Accessories/Mod_Chips/ However, when i clicked update URL in the 'console' cat, it said the domain could not be found. So, in the end, i have just submitted to the 'Mod Chips' category. Just thought id better make a post after all the confusion
Guest Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 Originally submitted to http://dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Console_Platforms/ (games does not list shopping sites, which is why it was moved) OK, that'll work, someone will delete one or the other when they get to them. (actual listing will depend on site content when reviewed)
