fashezee Posted January 8, 2004 Author Posted January 8, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared There was no change done to the site! How can I go about determining what is wrong so I can fix it?
spectregunner Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared There are a couple of approaches. Due to changes in the forum rules, we no longer dissect sites to determine why they may or may not qualify for a listing. First, you can look at the editing guidelines. The guidelines and other relevant information link to a page found here. Second, you can go to one of the websites that deal with content issues and placement, such as webmaster world or I help you services. I'm not endorsing either, but those two sites, like others, have proven useful to other submitters.
fashezee Posted January 8, 2004 Author Posted January 8, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared "no longer dissect sites" I have a pretty good idea why the site was removed, however I would like a confirmation before making a change that wasn't really the issue.
Guest Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared I have a pretty good idea why the site was removed, ... I suspect you also know why "we" no longer give specific reasons for the removal.
fashezee Posted January 8, 2004 Author Posted January 8, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared I believe that since we work closely with azatiko.com and offer eachothers services to our clients, capitallogodesign.com has been penalized and azatiko.com as well. You can keep Azatiko.com de-listed and make sure it never gets listed again, however Capitallogodesign.com would be a useful site to your directory. Azatiko.com was deleted awhile ago, but got re-listed and has caused this problem again.
Guest Posted January 9, 2004 Posted January 9, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared Azatiko.com was deleted awhile ago, but got re-listed and has caused this problem again. Does your left hand not know what the right hand is doing? The issue is _how_ it got relisted at all when it was emphatically stated somewhere by someone in your office (but not you apparently) that the site was dead and would we _please_ list a mirror site instead. We checked; yes it was dead. We checked later; it was live again. The lie exposed, we removed both listings.
fashezee Posted January 9, 2004 Author Posted January 9, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared Azatiko.com is not a mirror of capitallogodesign or vice versa. Azatiko.com was brought back online because of potential clients wanting to see their portoflio. Since it was stated that azatiko.com can be removed from your database, it was beleived it would have been OK to activate it again. Help me not waste anymore of your time and mine: 1) Can azatiko.com be deleted 2) Can capitallogodesign.com remain in DMOZ. Capitallogodesign.com is a useful resource to startup businesses and would add value to your directory. It's Tru.
fashezee Posted January 9, 2004 Author Posted January 9, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared kctipton, from webmasterworld to here, you probably know our story the most. We do not wish to fool DMOZ by listing two sites that offer our services. If you would review CapitalLogoDesign.com you will notice it's a very legitimate site that deserves to be included. Previous mixups should not prevent us from being listed. And what value are you providing to DMOZ by de-listing both sites! Should atleast one be included! Our alliance with azatiko.com was a BUSINESS STRATEGY and not a GET 2 SITES INTO DMOZ STRATEGY. Capitallogodesign.com is listed in the yahoo/business.com/looksmart directories ...
thehelper Posted January 9, 2004 Posted January 9, 2004 Re: Site Disappeared Arguing about the decision here will not help. That is not what this forum is for. It appears crystal clear to me that the decision on the sites is final. You should consider alternative promotion venues.
