Vlado Tovarnak Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Hello, I submited our site to ODP about half year ago. It is http://www.valuesguide.com/ but I am not sure to which category. I think it was http://dmoz.org/Business/Real_Estate/Appraisal/Appraisers/Residential/United_States/ but I am not sure. I am wondering if you can tell me status of our site. Kindest regards Vlado Tovarnak
Vlado Tovarnak Posted March 21, 2005 Author Posted March 21, 2005 Your site was rejected[/color"]. Thank you for the answer. Should I choose better category and ask for inclusion again? Thanks Vlado
Meta hutcheson Posted March 21, 2005 Meta Posted March 21, 2005 NO. The editors expect that most sites are submitted to the wrong category (and of course sites that aren't submitted have no pre-guessed category!) We're used to moving sites to the right category based on their unique content. In this case the right category, in the editor's judgment, was dev/null. That would be true regardless of whether the site had been submitted at all, let alone where it had been submitted.
Vlado Tovarnak Posted March 21, 2005 Author Posted March 21, 2005 no chance? So this means that I have no chance to have my site listed in ODP?
Meta hutcheson Posted March 21, 2005 Meta Posted March 21, 2005 No site is ever guaranteed a listing. We list sites with significant unique content. The editor didn't see that here. End of story. We don't know what will happen in the future. You may find some unique content. All the other sites that have that same content might die. Microsoft might buy AOL and start selling listings. But today, unique content rules. And that's an end of it.
