URL change for the website http://www.praett.com

I'm having a problem with changing a URL listed in:

 

http://directory.google.com/Top/Arts/Visual_Arts/Painting/Painters/Abstract_Expressionism/

 

From: stud3.tuwien.ac.at/~e9805577/

To: http://www.praett.com

 

I tried to update the description together with the link.

Should I try to submit the changes again?

1) We are not google, use http://dmoz.org/Arts/Visual_Arts/Painting/Painters/Abstract_Expressionism as a correct link please.

 

2) Update request has not yet been received. I just entered the change by hand, since it was very obvious that the site has moved.

Please be aware that the change may now take several months to follow through to other sites that are using the ODP data. Google is the most well known such site, and usally takes an update every month or so. Other sites may take updates much less frequently, and some haven't been back for an update for several years. The ODP has no control over how often, or when these other sites do their updates.

I have now tried to search for my site on dmoz but didn't succeeded.

 

Windharp wrote that he applied the changes by hand which seemed to me that I should be able to find the entry now one week+ after the database was updated.

 

Probably there was a misunderstanding on my side. Is it on the waiting list now?

 

Giz. Thank you for this advice. I knew it would be a little timeconsuming but it's good to have the first steps done.

ODP search can take a while to update - if you do a search at the moment it says Search database last updated on: Wed Mar 26 15:20:09 PST 2003 on the bottom of the page - anything added after that will not show in search.

 

In addition when you search for a url on ODP search, it will not find www.praett.com , but will find praett.com (once the search index is updated [normally about once a week])
