Guest dccb79 Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 Hi folks, Tried to find the website www.jobshelves.com.sg in the category: http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/Singapore/Business_and_Economy/Employment/ Couldn't see anything. I'd be grateful for info on it's status. Many thanks Danny Chuon
uzs980 Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 Three submissions of your site (of February 27th, February 28th and March 10th) are waiting for review in that category. No need to resubmit. You may come back to this thread after one month if your site hasn't been listed by then. Yours, Robert
Guest dccb79 Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Is it one month from 10th of March? I am very eager to see the site been listed on ODP. Please help.
uzs980 Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 You've never been good at maths in school, have you? <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> One month from March 10th would be April 10th ... And I meant one month from April 3rd, so you may come here again on May 3rd.
Guest dccb79 Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 I think I am a day earlier. Wondering why the site www.jobshelves.com.sg is not listed yet. Can the site be categorized into any of DMOZ categories? Please adviced.
Guest dccb79 Posted May 4, 2003 Posted May 4, 2003 Why is it that nobody is replying this time? It's a month already.
Meta windharp Posted May 4, 2003 Meta Posted May 4, 2003 Mostly because of the lartge amount of people asking for their sites status :-) Site is still waiting for an editor to find the time and review it, sorry no change yet. Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
dfy Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 You don't need to do anything. Your site is in the queue, waiting for an editor to come along and review it. I'm afraid you'll just have to be patient.
Guest dccb79 Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Sorry to bother you again... How is the queue now? I have been checking for the listing daily but still didn't see any changes. Are there any editor for this category?
motsa Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Please leave at least one calendar month between status queries (that means you can come back and ask sometime after June 5).
Guest dccb79 Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Dear editors, Please kindly help to look at the submission status for www.jobshelves.com.sg. I believe this site is categorizable into one of the DMOZ categories. Thank you.
Alucard Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 No change as to the status, I'm afraid. It awaits review, along with less than 10 other sites. As it seems like this category is not very active, I would recommend that you leave it two months before asking again. Sorry the news isn't any better.
Guest dccb79 Posted June 26, 2003 Posted June 26, 2003 I am wondering why DMOZ editors keep asking me to wait for months after months. Hope the open directory can be more open.......
Meta windharp Posted June 26, 2003 Meta Posted June 26, 2003 It is open. So much open that the amount of sites submitted is much more than the amount of about 5000 active editors can handle. As a result, processing times in some areas (especially those, where less people volunteer - mostly business areas) rise. Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
dfy Posted June 26, 2003 Posted June 26, 2003 >> Hope the open directory can be more open << We are being open. We're openly telling you that we have a shortage of editors, and there simply aren't enough to ensure that every category gets attention once a month. Alucard openly says that there is really no point in you coming back after exactly one month, it's far better to wait two or three. That way you won't be disappointed so often. If you'd like to volunteer to help out somewhere, that would be greatly appreciated, and it would lighten the load for the editors that work around the Singapore Employment categories, possibly resulting in your site being listed more quickly. If you don't want to volunteer your services, then you'll just have to accept the situation the way it is.
Guest dccb79 Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 I would love to volunteer but I don't think you all will allow me to be an editor so easily.
raggedyrugs Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's not! If you are honest on the application by having altruistic motives, listing any affiliations you have with sites, and show you can edit alongside many editors from around the world. The person reviewing your application will be more at ease. Although I'm not a meta editor, I would guess that attempting to hide your true motives for applying will be found out. In short, if you work and play nicely with others, and show a willingness and potential to edit objectively, you'll have a better chance.
Guest dccb79 Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 It had been 2 X 2 months since i last ask about the status of www.jobshelves.com.sg. Wondering how long I need to wait this time. Can anyone give me an answer? Thank you.
totalxsive Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 Still waiting for review. This area seems to be somewhat underedited.
Guest dccb79 Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Dear all editors, No news yet.. Why? Please help.. Isn't this a open project?
thehelper Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 The submission is still pending review. The Open Directory is Open because anyone can apply to be an editor.
