jonesbond Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Please let me know the status of http://www.symetri.com submitted to 1. http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/North_Carolina/Localities/G/Greensboro/Business_and_Economy/Advertising_and_Marketing/ 2. http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Internet_Marketing/ I think these are the two. Also I appologize if I was not supposed to submit twice. I looked up a competitor and they were in their twice and I followed suit. If I can only submit once I would prefer #2 since our firm is in Greensboro NC and Atlanta GA. Thanks for your consideration.
uzs980 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Your site is listed in Regional: North America: United States: North Carolina: Localities: G: Greensboro: Business and Economy: Computers and Internet since March 27th and in Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Promotion: Search Engine Optimization Firms: S since March 31st. :moz:
jonesbond Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 Thanks. Does it take time to index? When I type in "Symetri" into the search field it comes back with "No Open Directory Project results found." Does it take time it to show up after it is listed?
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted April 11, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted April 11, 2005 You can see when the search database was last updated at the bottom of the search results screen. Does that answer your question adequately?
jonesbond Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 Not exactly. When I do a search query on http://www.dmoz.org, google directory, etc. my listing doesn't show up. That is why I wasn't aware that my listing had already posted. So let me ask it this way, why doesn't my listing come up while doing a search query?
bobrat Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 When you do a search for symetri.com on ODP search the bottom of the page says Search database last updated on: Tue Feb 22 10:25:13 EST 2005 Post #2 above says your site was added in March - since March comes after February your site does not display in the search. As far as Google, they have their own search and we have no control of it - as we also have no control as to when Google updates listings from DMOZ.
