lookaa Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Could you tell me what the status is for my sites - http://www.photo-to-dvd.com (http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Software/Shareware/Windows/Multimedia/Digital_Video/) http://www.flash-on-tv.com (http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Multimedia/Software/Macromedia_Flash/Software/) They have been over a few months since I submitted , but so far I have not seen them. I appreciate your help. Thank you.
spectregunner Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I want to make sure that you undertand one of the fundamental concepts of the ODP. We do NOT list individual product pages. A good guideline is one company = one listing. So whether you have one software product or 100 software products, you should have a single URL that is listable, not a URL for each and every product.
lookaa Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 Thanks very much. Photo2DVD & FlashOnTV are two absolute different products of our company. And they have their own website. So I appreciate you could take the time for checking on them. Thanks a lot in advance.
djdeeds Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 two absolute different products of our company To reiterate what spectregunner said, in case you did not see it: We do NOT list individual product pages.
spectregunner Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 If you wish, you can substitute the word "sites" for "pages". Same thing applies.
bobrat Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 You can create a web site with a hundred products - we call that a web site for listing purposes. You can then create another site with a different layout and a different URL and target a different audience. We call that a mirror. You can create a hundred separate web sites for each of your products and with a different URL. All of these are considered normal internet market techniques and you are not a bad person for doing that. But the bottom line is we only list one of the URL's the one we consider to be the prime top level one. And if you try to get us to list more than one, or create extra work for editors by submitting more than one, then we are no longer happy.
lookaa Posted April 14, 2005 Author Posted April 14, 2005 OK, one company = one listing. now I just want to know the status of submission for http://www.photo-to-dvd.com Many thanks.
uzs980 Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 The submission was switched to http://www.wondershare.com/ and is waiting for review in Computers: Multimedia: Digital Video: Products and Tools: Software.
