Guest gimmster Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Received and waiting there for review. Some sections being empty may be a problem at time of review. http://www.trip-europe.com/region.php?id=502 :tree:
Numbmax Posted May 17, 2005 Author Posted May 17, 2005 Dear Gimmster, Thank you very much for your answer. We will fill the information as soon as possible. Our properties are waiting for our Content Team's reviews. We hope this will be no problem for the review as we would like you to take note that only Portugal and Switzerland are partially empty. The rest should be full finished. As we're a hotel & travel guide, the following section features quick information about those regions not filled with properties yet. Please check also: http://www.trip-europe.com/infor.php?id=502 Regards, Numbmax
Meta pvgool Posted May 17, 2005 Meta Posted May 17, 2005 From the DMOZ guidelines http://dmoz.org/add.html Do not submit sites "under construction." Wait until a site is complete before submitting it. Sites that are incomplete, contain "Under Construction" notices, or contain broken graphics or links aren't good candidates for the directory. If a site is UC at the moment it is reviewed it will very probably be rejected. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
Numbmax Posted May 17, 2005 Author Posted May 17, 2005 Dear PVGOOL, Thank you very much for your kind quote. See, after sending our submission we really read the statements for DMOZ. We really thank you for your suggestions. As I explained, the site is not UNDER CONSTRUCTION, these two countries (portugal & switzerland) where recently added... taking that out, the site is full completed. To all editors reading these message please do not waste time by replying to the above simple reply to Mr. Pvgool; I know you have a lot of work and most people is interested in get listed as soon as possible. Thank you very much to all, Numbmax
spectregunner Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 We understand what you are saying, and appreciate that you have no need for a reply, but there is a valuable lesson here for those who may be lurking: If you submit a site, make sure that it is complete in the sense that all pages have content and all links properly link.We know that good websites grow over time, and where many webmasters get crosswise with our submission guidelines is when they put placeholders on their site to show where future content is going to go. When we look at such a site, we say, oops, under construction and react unfavorably. So if you have a site about, say, ice cream, go ahead an submit it when you have sections for vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, but don't put up placeholders for Rocky Road or Cherry Jubilee. Add those sections when you have the content, not before. Thus, if we look at your site and see three sections: vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, we will judge it based on that content and not on the "coming soon" signs.
Numbmax Posted May 18, 2005 Author Posted May 18, 2005 Dear Spectregunner, I appreciate your comments and I think it is reasonable and may be, we should remove from our sitemap those pages not having the content we expect to offer soon. Trip-Europe's sitemap will not show those sections with empty content until they're filled out. We do not feature such content of "Coming Soon" because our webmasters are actually working hard to evaluate the content not featured yet. Nevertheless, those looking at this interesting dialogue should consider the we have included Trip-Europe.com in a section which is not specific of Switzerland and Portugal (those pages empty by now in our website), so it is hard to say how much users will be dissapointed when clicking in Dmoz for Trip-Europe.com when looking for Switzerland or Portugal Hotels. I thank to those taking the time to reply my statements. Regards, Numbmax
