cr3at0r Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Dear dmoz editors, please let me know the status of http://www.web-rome-hotels.com submitted to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Italy/Regions/Lazio/Localities/Rome/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Directories/ Thank you.
jimnoble Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Your website is not listable in this directory has been declined. The reason will be found within our Submission Guidelines. Please do not resubmit.
cr3at0r Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 Hi jimnoble and thanks for the prompt reply. Can you please be so kind to specify which are the matters that dont let me to get in the odp ? This because my site had been listed for a year, but one day it had just been removed with no apparently reasons. Thank you very much.
uzs980 Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 When a company offers multiple sites with related content, we'd prefer to list a central site from which all of these single sites would be accessible.
cr3at0r Posted April 19, 2005 Author Posted April 19, 2005 Ok thanks for the reply, but I'm still not convinced at all If you browse the category http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Italy/Regions/Lazio/Localities/Rome/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Directories/ You'll find lots of sites that dont respect this point just for example: http://rome-hotels.jollyhotels.com/ has it's central site: http://www.jollyhotels.com/ or http://www.nycerome.com/ has http://www.nyceparis.com/ and http://www.nycevenice.com/ and http://www.nyceflorence.com/ and some others.. or http://www.romeby.com/ has all the sites you can find on the bottom of the homepage So I'm sorry if i can look polemic, but I really would like to understand why my site has been removed while the others, that give the same service as mine, are still listed. Thank you! Claudio.
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted April 19, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted April 19, 2005 I don't edit in your category, but I'd like (vaguely) to defend our decision on the jollyhotels.com sets. That's appears to be a real hotel chain, and it seems defensible. I agree with you in regard the other sets -- however, I don't edit in Europe at the moment, and there may be some concensus regarding those sites of which I am unaware, or some information in the sites which distinguish it from the vast majority of hotel reservation sites.
Meta hutcheson Posted April 19, 2005 Meta Posted April 19, 2005 Well, what are the facts here? Some editor is, as you see, working to clean up the quality problems in the directory. The job isn't finished, as you say (and I'm not going to argue with that.) What else is to discuss? You're going to argue with me over the priorities some OTHER editor set for himself? When neither you nor I has any right to impose any priorities on any editor; and neither you nor I has the right to ask any editor what priorities they chose? That seems a waste of time, no?
