Guest Cindy Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Is there a way to find out why I can't get listed. Have tried Business/Wholesale/Jewlelry/Silver as well as Businesss/Wholesale and Business/Wholesale/Jewelry. Any information will be very helpful. Thanks.
dfy Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Silvernecklaces.com is a sub-site of internationalgoldchain.com, and as such it will not be listed.
Guest Cindy Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 How do I make it not a subsite. It has it's own URL and we just link from one site to another. I would rather have the www.silvernecklaces.com listed instead of the www.internationalgoldchain.com. Is this possible?
motsa Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 How do I make it not a subsite.Having looked at both, no, you can't. Not unless you want to break away from the company completely and start your own company. I would rather have the www.silvernecklaces.com listed instead of the www.internationalgoldchain.com. Is this possible? No. http://www.gemstonejewelrycatalog.com/ , http://www.jewelrysupplystore.com/ , http://www.jewelrywebdesigners.com/ , and http://www.silvernecklaces.com/ are all subsites of International Gold Chain and thus not listable on their own.
Guest Cindy Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Actually they are all our sites. When we originally started the websites, we were just using them for current customers and not focussing on new internet customers until we started receiving a lot of new customers from www.silvernecklaces.com through google. I would like to get rid of www.internationalgoldchain.com on ODP and just list the others individually as they have different products. I was keeping www.internationalgoldchain.com uploaded because it is the company name but we actually get more interest for the silver than anything else. It was easier for me to keep them straight with different URLs and I just update the different ones when I need to. Is it possible to get www.internationalgoldchain delisted and the others listed? Thanks for your help. All this time I've been wondering what the problem was. P.S. Sorry about starting that other thead. I didn't see the category for Site Submission Status until I'd already posted. I'm new to the posting thing and didn't know how to erase it.
motsa Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Actually they are all our sites. That's why they're called "subsites". Is it possible to get www.internationalgoldchain delisted and the others listed? Not likely since that would be replacing 1 listing (well, one topical and one regional) with 4+, expecially when all four are easily accessed from the one existing listing and the one existing listing is the company's actual name.
Guest Cindy Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Could I get www.internationalgoldchain.com deleted and www.silvernecklaces.com listed as the main site? The problem is that we have been heavily advertising silvernecklaces.com at trade shows and that is the site I regularly update. There is a lot more good content on this site. In addition, we have better results when people search for silver items than gold in today's market. We don't want to change the company name as we've been in business for 17 years.
Meta kokopeli Posted April 7, 2003 Meta Posted April 7, 2003 As motsa explained above, http://www.internationalgoldchain.com/ is the main site, and that is the url that needs to be listed.
Guest Posted April 9, 2003 Posted April 9, 2003 You _could_ kill off the internationalgoldchain.com site <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> That would get it out of the directory in time...
