Guest leannabartram Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 Hey, is anyone else having issues accessing dmoz.org today, 5/31/02???
Meta hutcheson Posted May 31, 2002 Meta Posted May 31, 2002 I was having some trouble with the public side late last night.
Guest leannabartram Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 I haven't been able to access either public or editor side today. By the way, I just came here because I remembered the URL. Could someone change me from "member" to "editor" or "editall" or whatever the appropriate moniker is?? :/images/dmoz/purplegrin.gif Thanks, Leanna
Meta windharp Posted May 31, 2002 Meta Posted May 31, 2002 Even if that wont help you much: I dont have any problems and am editing for hourts now... Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
apeuro Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 >>Could someone change me from "member" to "editor" or "editall" or whatever the appropriate moniker is??<< Done /images/icons/smile.gif I haven't had any problems with dmoz.org at all today.
Meta theseeker Posted May 31, 2002 Meta Posted May 31, 2002 Leanna, I did some geek magic and found that at a point right before your connection, your ISP that is, there are problems causing some "Packet Loss". Which means you might be having problems getting through to some websites. I can't tell you if this actually is the problem, but it's the first thing I think of when someone can't get through to a website and everyone else can.
totalxsive Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 Phew. I thought it may have been my fault - I accidently downloaded 168MB of data from DMoz...
Guest Posted June 1, 2002 Posted June 1, 2002 Hey! You broke it!! I told you to be careful when downloading... /images/icons/smile.gif
Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Posted June 2, 2002 I can't submit my editor profile for consideration. Everytime I do the server keeps coming back as "unable to fork sendmail" I assume that there are people working on the back end of this website right now. It would have been nice though if they posted some sort of message on the site with an approximate time frame of delays, before I spent all day writing up an application. Jerome N.
Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Posted June 2, 2002 There's one person working on the back end - that's all we've got. I'd advise people making editor applications to save the information before they submit, both because of possible malfunctions and so they can study their submission if they're rejected.
Guest leannabartram Posted June 3, 2002 Posted June 3, 2002 I love "geek magic" theseeker. :/images/dmoz/purplegrin.gif I was a bit curious if maybe dmoz.org got banned because I had been accessing from work (being paranoid like I am) :/images/dmoz/purplegrin.gif Thanks for checking. Leanna
