FrankRockett Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Hi I hope this is in the correct section! I want to ask for feedback on why just one editor is not listing our website please. I submitted http://www.MobilephoneNo.com to the Phillipines section of Dmoz about 2 years ago, then again about 6 months ago, and it's not been listed. Meanwhile the Spanish, French, Africaans and English version of the site are listed in their respective places without problem. I can't be specific about the section URL because I don't speak Tagalog and had a bilingual Filipino native with me when I did the original submissions. I hope this doesn't represent a huge problem for you! I can say the website is a cell phone number directory service - where you go to find John Doe's personal (or business) cell phone number. We went for the nearest to a "reference/addresses and phone numbers/cell phones" classification as we could find. Clearly it hasn't been listed, but why not, since the resource is unique, vast (hundreds of thousands of numbers worldwide) and relevant. Further to 'relevant' I'd add that not only is it relevant for a Filipino person to locate the numbers of named individuals in their own country, but in other countries also. There are approximately 20,000 Filipno cell phone numbers in the directory, and about 400,000 worldwide (and growing!), so it really is flawlessly relevant by any sesnsible definition of the word. Other editors agree, why not the editor for the Phillipines? Thank you for whatever you can uncover! Regards Frank. p.s. All translations are done by qualified human bilingual translators - not computer programs!
jimnoble Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 It's awaiting review in World/Tagalog/Reperensya . We can't predict when that might be. If it hasn't been listed in 6 months from today, please ask again in this same thread. it hasn't been listed, but why not Because no volunteer editor has yet volunteered to evaluate it. When they do, they might decide to decline it.
FrankRockett Posted April 26, 2005 Author Posted April 26, 2005 Thanks! Thanks for that Jim. Regards Frank.
