estnyboer Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Dear Regional Editor, I have been trying to update a site that is currently listed under: Regional: North America: United States: California: Localities: I: Irvine: Business and Economy: Restaurants and Bars The site is: http://taleomexicangrill.com My original submission contained an accented "e" in "Taleo" and I would like to have it changed to a regular "e". The current listing reads "Tal?o". I have submitted a request for an update twice within the past 6 months. Please advise. Thank you, John Nyboer
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted May 10, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted May 10, 2005 http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27946 1. We prefer to have all queries about the same site in the same thread. 2. The accented e is in your business name, and all but one or two places on the site. If it's the wrong accented e, that would be different. Your update request has been considered by a number of editors, and brought up for discussion in the internal fora, and been rejected.
spectregunner Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 If you are seeing teh question mark in a black triangle, it is because you do not have the correct character set enabled on your browser. We currently use UTF-8.

If I were to change the text (not graphic logos) throughout the site to an unnaccented "Taleo" would you approve the change? This accent creates an obvious search problem for the site. It was a novice mistake and I would like to correct the problem if possible.
bobrat Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 I think you worry too much about this - go to Google - > more - > Directory - search for taleo without the accent or go to just plain Google and search for taleo mexican grill Noone is going to be using ODP search to find Taléo Mexican Grill - if they know your name, why would they search for it in ODP?
